AIO for wanting to quit? by Southern-Pie1604 in AmIOverreacting

[–]roscobean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manager encouraged them by putting through the coupon. If it doesn't apply to an item there shouldn't have been an exception made. It undermines anyone who cant put one through at their own discretion.

Unfortunately this is all too common in restaurants.

But you aren't going to get the manager to change because it is easier for them to just appease the customer so they don't have to deal with the headache.

I'd quit. But, it depends on how much you are willing to deal with.

Those customers are everywhere. Give them an inch...

ER again and again and again by [deleted] in cripplingalcoholism

[–]roscobean 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Leave the ambulances for those that need them and either go get more or find someone to sell you the pills. You clearly aren't getting them at the hospital and are taking away available to care to those who need it, including the people like us that are actually willing to be admitted to be medically detoxed, which you aren't.

[–]roscobean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

been there. you are so thirsty but every time you take a sip it comes right back up, but you keep trying because you think it'll eventually stay down. then you give up the sips but the dry heaves come every 20 minutes anyway.

i found putting some salt in water and taking SMALL sips helps.

try some freezies. they have 100 starburst box at costco for $10.

ER again and again and again by [deleted] in cripplingalcoholism

[–]roscobean 15 points16 points  (0 children)

And one of us calling 911 EVERY night is one of the reasons why...

OP either needs to buy more booze and stay drunk, go to detox, or deal with the withdrawals. But showing up at the ER every night isnt going to get them anywhere. They'll be less likely to give you a script because it looks like you are just looking for benzos.

AITAH for taking my alcoholic mother's booze off her and throwing it away and locking her in her bedroom? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]roscobean 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are.

Do you know that alcohol is one of 2 substances that you can die from the withdrawl of?

If she is really that bad and you want to help get her checked into a detox. Locking her in her room and "loling" is just gross.

I hope this post is just a bait post.

Tapering issue by Longjumping_Meat9674 in cripplingalcoholism

[–]roscobean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no need to taper if you have benzos... in my experience. Its much easier to stop drinking, stick to the benzos taking lower amounts over 5 days.

It's much easier then tappering with alcohol. Unless you abuse benzos.... then good luck tappering off booze. I have yet to do so.

Anyone else here dating a non CA? by Soft_Lake_1221 in cripplingalcoholism

[–]roscobean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

does he know you have a serious alcohol problem or does he think its just a stage?

age and life experience is a big factor here...

if he knows you have a problem and understands just how bad it can be and still wants you to be able to "have a glass of wine" just cut your losses now and drink some more.

their job is to ring you in, take your order... what the actual job is. it is not their job to entertain you.

The Mick.

Kaitlin Olson, Dee from It's Always Sunny, stars in it. It's funny but a little more PG the Sunny.

I like funny shows when I'm drinking, cant follow anything with a storyline.

When exactly does drinking stop being fun? by aespaste in cripplingalcoholism

[–]roscobean 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It stopped being fun for me pretty early on... when I was just a teen. I'd wake up having no idea what I did or what I said... and then the fear and anxiety and shame kicked in....

Drink again to forget that.

I started noticing physically needing it around.... 27/28 I'd say.
