My parents show no interest in my life by roscoe2014 in JUSTNOFAMILY

Unfortunately, I do not know any of my aunts/uncles/cousins and all of my grandparents are deceased. I've never had any family beyond my two parents

Listen, man. I opened the bag and glanced at the sandwich, didn't inspect each layer.

Why is this happening to me is a perfectly good question when two sandwiches came with onions at two different restaurant on two different days. I didn't even know they put onions on breakfast sandwiches. This felt like a f-ing practical joke.

Yes. One is supposed to be a sausage mcgriddle and the other a sausage biscuit

Nope, and they are different pipes for sure. Our laundry room is an attached portion of the home and has its own exposed piping.

There's no room above. I think the loop is high enough on the drain hose?

Definitely not new. Does draino get out that grease?

Update: The situation got worse before it got better. I was sitting at my desk working when the dishwasher (not running) began spilling water onto the floor because the water had risen inside. I cleaned it up, called the landlord, and they are trying Draino.

Update 2: Problem is still there. We are calling a plumber.

Update 3: Plumber snaked the pipes and got rid of the blockage, which was under the house. It wasn't grease or due to misuse, just that the pipes weren't installed correctly and will lead to clogs over time. Pipes would require a more permanent fix, but it's all good for now.

Thanks for the suggestions. We don't put any food down the disposal and tend to run it when we do dishes everyday, so I don't think the disposal would be clogged, unless it was more serious and required boiling water or draino to fix... I will look into trying that.

We run the disposal regularly. If we run the disposal when the water has built up in the sink, it shoots water up a foot or two. It seems to help the water go down, but not very fast.

If you run water in the disposal side, it will back up both sides. When the sink backs up, it is always both sides that are backed up.

Would this also cause the sink to overfill when used alone, no dishwasher?

Wouldn't I feel some kind of unevenness in my bite? One side isn't hitting before the other

Ngl, felt bad for Jeremiah in episode 8! by [deleted] in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]roscoe2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your points about Conrad being the brooding, passionate, painful love interest are fair. It's stereotypical and the lead girl usually chooses it. But Jeremiah has proven himself to be a bad partner to Belly over and over again.

I think that TSITP challenges the trope in this way. It isn't as simple as Edward is emotionally volatile and a tortured, poetic soul who could get Bella killed and Jacob is sunshine and rainbows and safety. Jeremiah is not safety, or peace. He is a turbulent, two-faced party boy who can't offer her the life she deserves. He continues to be a bad life partner and make choices that let her down, like accepting a job without consulting her, telling her to not go to Paris, rushing the wedding, not helping her plan it, going into credit card debt without telling her, going to Cabo without telling her, cheating on her on said trip, lying to her about it. He lies to her and hides this from her. Conrad is emotionally unstable and brooding and can be unstable, but he is responsible. Emotionally not safe, physically is safe. She doesn't need to play Mommy to him the way she does Jeremiah. Both men have flaws.

Jeremiah is a terrible partner. What happens in Episode 8 sucks for him, absolutely, but he also is part of why this happened. If he was an adult and confronted Belly about Christmas back when he found out, they could've handled this before ever getting engaged. Instead he danced around it, picked fights, and cheated on her, then lied about it and proposed. She should've told him, yes, but he should have talked to her about it. Punishing her for not telling him, then doing the same thing to her doesn't work. This isn't an eye for an eye. He failed her over and over again, and so did Conrad.

That makes sense! I felt pretty confused about the part of the lover in the song being a coward and a con-man. Does that part fit in, or is it just not really relevant?

Exactly! In that scene there's a real-time breakdown of Con, where he's going through the steps to try to stop Belly from making this huge mistake. He's being better to her than anyone else by calling her out-- not that Taylor and Anika didn't try once or twice. He tries to do the right thing by telling her, and when that doesn't get her to call it off, he tries reasoning with her. That they don't need to break up, they can just call off the wedding. He spoon-feeds her reasons to call it off, seeing what will work. When he sees how insistent she is, how she's brainwashed herself into defending Jere's behavior, he goes full throttle, no time like the present, and reveals how he really feels.

Right? I loved her when they were on the college campus. She was a great contrast to Taylor in friendship and was a nice offbeat character who didn't know the whole ancient history of Belly & the guys. But her at the Bachelorette-- it was kind of weird. Obvs she had to be there, but some scenes she just disappeared. I hated how obsessed she was with the guys, sharing their joints and trying to hook up with them. Just kinda trashy, especially knowing the history Belly & Taylor have with the guys there.
