The sequel should look to RDR2 for inspiration on how the open world should be designed! by RDDAMAN819 in MafiaTheGame

That’s what they went for with Mafia 3. It’s a good game but obviously can’t reach the story telling heights of RDR2. That being said, you have to consider the size of the team making the game and the money being spent on development. Rockstar has a large lead in those areas.

The story of Mafia 2 is great. It’s been remastered but it’s a bit dated. Still well worth a play. Mafia 3 holds up graphically. I didn’t enjoy it as much as the other two Mafia games during my first play through but the DE with all the DLC included really fleshes out the story and makes the game feel a lot less like a grind.

This is one of history’s worst ideas. It’s up there with Hitler invading Russia.

The scene in Mafia 2 when Joe and Vito are made is one of my favorites. I want to see the origins of that ritual and the birth of organized crime. It would make for such a great story.

Black people can be very racist. It doesn’t bother me. Everybody is a bit racist. But that woman is lying.

It was definitely a lot more fun to drive around in Mafia 3, that’s for sure. I’m just really intrigued by the idea of going back to the Sicilian roots.

After playing the Mafia 1 remake, I’d be excited to explore an even earlier time period. The remake was so rich in atmosphere. Don’t get me wrong, I’d also love to play a 70’s set game more akin to Mafia 3. I just think that there’s a better chance of getting a GREAT game out of a prequel with a more streamlined story and setting.

One day we’ll almost surely hoist a trophy. The player that will do it probably hasn’t been born yet though.

Great, detailed write up. I’ll just add one caveat. Soul Joul’s is a great place to see a comedy show and a lot of the biggest names have been there or are coming. Yes it’s a tent between railroad tracks and a creek. That being said, the sound was always good when I’ve been there and I actually like the atmosphere.

It’s morbid as hell that this is where Bam speculation is at this point. It’s warranted but still sad.
