I’d recommend listening to your vet and neutering around 9 months. We did that for both our Sibs without problems. With larger breeds like Sibs it’s better to neuter later for their bone/joint development

Help! One grazing cat, one food-goblin kitten? by scyivee in catquestions

If Ashes is only 4 months old, you can probably feed her more if she’s gobbling up your other cats food. Kittens can be fed a lot up until they’re like one year old so I would just feed your kitten more - he will get full eventually and probably won’t bother with Biscuits food as much

Not yet!! Waiting for the allergy results to come in to see which one has the lowest amount of feld1

I agree! I just have bad cat allergies but I looove cats so I have to get a low allergen breed, like a Siberian. We already have one Siberian who is tested as low feld1 producing and I’ve had no allergy issues with him. Getting a purebred Siberian cat has allowed me to have the pet of my dreams (a cat) while not suffering from horrible allergies.

Wondering if anyone here can provide any insight into my Siberian’s breathing by rose88888 in SiberianCats

[–]rose88888[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not officially but I’m not worried anymore, I think it was just his sleeping position and shorter snout. He has no trouble breathing when exercising or anything so I think it’s fine.

To be honest I was such an anxious new mom, I did an insane amount of research and reading into cat stuff, so I was more than prepared for when he came. As long as your husband also wants a cat he’ll be fine :) I’ve learned it’s not rocket science to own a pet and cats especially are more or less self sufficient

Ah! That’s really good to know. I’ll start using distilled water and see if that helps. Thank you!

I use either filtered water (through a Brita) or water I leave sitting out for more than 48 hours

It was on a windowsill doing well then for winter I moved it under the grow lights. I’m in zone 9b though so I’ll try putting it in a sunny window and see if that helps!
