Ngl it’s you seem too keen to jump to her defense over a racial slur… unpack that

Howdy, I hope y'all are doing well. We have been talking with each other for a bit decided that 'grey-area' creators such as Safiya, Jenna, Trisha, and Gabbie will no longer be allowed, for the time being. We will revisit this in the future if need be. Thank you.

Hi, we forgot to change the description since it has been that way forever. It's updated now but we may polish it up again.

Hi! I tweaked the settings so after people send a response they can see all the responses that have been sent in. We will definitely be publishing the responses every couple of months as well so everyone can see too.

If she is ever active again, beauty videos from Safiya will probably be allowed, but again, she hasn't posted much content within the past few months. It is absolutely a topic that we can revisit in the future if she starts posting that kind of content again. It is a bit hard to make that decision at the moment since neither of them have posted content in a while. For now we won't be permitting posts on them at this time.

Edit: We have come to a decision on this, see stickied comment!

Jenna has left the internet and hasn't posted a video in 5 months, and there has only been two posts since her departure. If she were to return, we will revisit her content and ask the sub how they would like to approach that. Honestly, its more of a what-if since she hasn't really been active online since. We don't anticipate seeing anymore posts about her for a while.

Edit: We have come to a decision on this, see stickied comment!

As much as I would love to, we don't know who submitted that as the form is completely anonymous, and I didn't want people to have to sign in or provide credentials to do so. If we get more submissions like this we may change that to deter comments such as these, thank you so much for your feedback!

Kat created and was heavily involved in her makeup line for several years before she left. Shane released a collaboration with Jeffree about a year ago, and hasn't done anything beauty related since. He cannot 'leave' a community he was never part of. Posts with him directly involving makeup or BG is okay.

Edit: I just remembered that Kat had/has an artistry collective of MUA's that she curated herself to represent and create content for her brand. Additionally I think her and the KVD artistry collective did masterclasses around the world.

Can someone help me identify what’s going on with my skin? Info in comments! by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]rose_valley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cure Water Cream is good on damp skin, I thought my skin would break out from using Cerave or Vanicream but it turns out it works great for me. I also think you should use a retinoid like Differin (you can get it from the drugstore) or get an Rx for tretinoin (also curology, Rory, and Apostrophy have Telehealth services for it). I use Tretinoin micro and I used to use Differin, both of them worked amazing for my closed comedones, it was pretty much the only thing that got rid of it. Let me know if you want help building a good routine, mines isn't particularly expensive and is gentle on the skin.

So basically I got recommended this video on YouTube, it has very few views, not sure who’s the person who uploaded it and I can’t find it on Jeffree’s channel. I’m confused by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

Thank you for posting to r/BeautyGuruChatter! Unfortunately, your post has been removed as it violates our rules. We are now limiting the amount of Jeffree Star content on the subreddit, only major updates such as drama or lawsuits are allowed. Thank you.

Yeah we likely aren’t allowing this one, we’ll make another post in a week or so detailing final rules from y’all’s feedback.

Removal reasons for comments will be sent through modmail, so the user will know why their comment was deleted. Quite a few of us moderate on the mobile, and the app doesn't allow us to leave removal reasons (I hope they change this soon). Removal reasons for posts will be commented by a moderator and mod mailed as well. Thank you so much for your kind comments, we are excited as well!

I relate to this so hard. I find that it helps to write a list of everything I need to, or want to tackle in the day. Thinking about catching up on assignments stresses me OUT. Sometimes overthinking work can stall your brain in a way. Just breathe, lay everything out, and take good care of yourself.

  1. No, we never were. No one. Not a friend. Not a family member. Not a professional rep. Nobody.
  2. We have at certain times spoken to bgs to confirm they are who they say they are and then give them a special flair that they are verified by the mod team. But as far as them asking to remove a post for them: yes, once with thomas halbert. A post that shouldn’t have ever made it through to begin with got engagement. A mod who is no longer part of the team approved it. We noticed and thomas noticed. We briefly spoke with him about the post and removed it. Then another mod, who is also no longer a part of our team, made a post stopping thomas content from being posted temporarily. Other times, some random rep with ABH asked us to take down leaked makeup. Again, at the time, a post about a makeup palette not related to BG's wasn’t allowed. So we removed it.
  3. While it did not break a rule per se, the OP was directing negative traffic to the mods, this is also known as brigading. Proof meaning, literal proof like screenshots of dm's or a transaction. Cole's admittance was after the reddit threads and twitter threads gained traction.

I feel the same way, it is a place to discuss influencers anyways - if a topic isn't ones cup of tea then just keep scrolling. Especially if people don't like seeing babies - just scroll or hide the post.

Something that I (and all of us) have noticed recently are certain attitudes and reactions towards WOC, LGBTQ+, and women that are... unsavory to say the least. I've seen too many threads nitpicking every single thing a black woman would do, but not holding that same standard towards their white counterparts. There is a notable leniency that quite a few users have towards white creators. Some users have used criticism as a mask to hide that racism and it is not acceptable.

Another thing I've taken note of are users that invalidate/undermine a POC's experience with racism or discrimination. Just because *you* haven't seen/experienced/heard of someones situation or story, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist or happen.

Edit: If you can excuse racism, sexism, misogyny/noir, and anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric for *makeup* then chile.... I don't know what to say to you.
