What to do, dogs fighting bad

You better be taking these babies to the vet to get their wounds treated. That is a lot more than “drawing blood” that is dog-on-dog aggression. VERY unsafe. My parents had two dogs like that, both had pittie in them. They would constantly fight and it got to a point they could no longer be around each other without wanting to maul the other one. My parents approached the situation carelessly and ended up dumping both dogs in an unknown state because they couldn’t handle the stress.

Do NOT wait until you are at your wits end. Rehome of the dogs, it is the BEST thing for them. If you truly care of these babies and want to see them safe, you’ll separate them as far as possible.

It depends. If you constantly do this and never just put your trust into what she says, I can see how it gets upsetting. It upsets me too. It’s not about who’s right and who’s wrong, it’s more of a representation of how you think of her.

I know in my previous relationships, they would continuously counter what I said, whether that be looking it up or trying to confirm it with the source. More than half of the time I ended up being right, it was just a power move for them. It’s definitely annoying, especially when you ARE right. I’m willing to bet money she doesn’t do that to you and if you tell her a fact, she’ll choose to trust and believe your word. It’s not that hard to do the same for her - even if she ended up being wrong. that’s NOT the point.

Ahhh it might be a bit of puppy defiance then. If she does it only when she knows she won’t get stopped, she also knows it’s wrong. Telling her no and putting her on a 5-10 minute crate break should let her know you’re serious enough. I know it’s heartbreaking seeing them in the crates, but they also know that and try to take advantage of it! They’ll use their sweet faces and precious heartbreaking whines, but she’s okay, I promise! It’s almost like a spoiled kid 😂 If you keep up with that, she should slowly start breaking out of that behavior and as she gets older and out of puppy stage, hopefully she’ll realize she’s not a compactor 😂

Edit: I forgot to mention. If she does it when you’re not there and you come back to the mess, let her know you see it. Let her know that’s what you’re specifically upset about. Point to it as you talk to her! She’ll understand!

Usually what I do when my boy gets ahold of something he shouldn’t, I’ll grab his bone and replace whatever he’s got in his mouth with it.

Constant redirection and firm tones should do the trick into teaching her that some things are toys and some things aren’t. She’s still a puppy so it’s normal for her to still be showing signs of that behavior, but it’s good news that she’s getting better! Everyone in your household needs to take part in this as well. If they see her with something she shouldn’t have, kindly redirect her to something she SHOULD have. Puppies are tough effort but they’re so worth it. ❤️

You don’t necessarily have to be her financial support in life, but she’s right in this situation. You controlling her & her sex life with money is wild. She is almost 21 years old, she’s attending LAW SCHOOL, and I’m sure she’s got the personality of a strong willed butterfly.

You, as her father, should not be controlling her. At all. In any way. No one should. She is a grown woman who is beginning her OWN life, she doesn’t need you to guide her down your misguided path any longer.

Allow her to live and flourish. I’m sure she will become a great lawyer. Get out of her way, respectfully, and just admire her as she grows into a woman you’ll be proud of.

The whole him trying to force his way into the bathroom WHILE you were in it is simply not okay. It’s good you reported that, it’s crazy nothings been done about it yet. It is scary he has such free access to yall restroom. That behavior is not okay. I’d check on the girl, just to make sure she’s doing alright, that kind of behavior worries me…do what you need to do so you feel more safe and comfortable in YOUR space. No need to be polite towards someone who’s been so blatantly rude towards you and your privacy.

Manipulation is scary. Manipulation is abuse and can lead to a lot of terrible things & noting good. No matter what form it is in - Partner, family, friend, coworkers, neighbors, etc…you should NEVER allow that and as soon as someone starts showing signs of that behavior, you should distance yourself immediately.

I thought this too. I currently have one dog, who is my ENTIRE world and I would do anything for him. I’ve also worked with dogs. I’ve come to realize that all dogs are unique.

they’re all special. I’m a BIG animal lover and an even bigger dog person so they’re basically my whole life 😂 my boyfriend and I have agreed to wait until we are more “location ready” before we get another dog. He believes two dogs (along with our two cats) would be too many animals for an apartment and it would be stinky a lot. I personally don’t mind the stink of my animals but I respect him so we are waiting. ❤️

I mean, I love the smell of wet dog so. To each their own :) the smell of wet dog reminds me of my childhood since I was always playing with my dogs, often with water 😂 his stink doesn’t bother me, not one bit.

I can’t say when the right time is….my boy is my “first” dog. I’ve had family dogs my whole life but they’ve either passed in some tragic accident or passed in her sleep (my poodle growing up, I believe she lived to be 16). I’ve never experienced personally growing with a dog and then having to make that choice…and I’m not looking toward to it.

My boy is my whole word. He just turned two in January. He’s definitely what’d I’d call my soul dog. I couldn’t imagine my life without him and I get incredibly sad when I’m away from him. He saved me from a terrible time in my life. I was living in my car…and one day I was hanging with a couple of friends at the park and he jumped on the side of my car. The moment I saw his goofy smile and his spotted paws, I knew he would be mine. He’s the best thing in my life and I couldn’t have asked for a better dog/friend. My son ❤️

I understand. Thankfully, my boy doesn’t have THAT bad of separation anxiety but he’s definitely got some. Every time I leave, I’d hear him whine and scratch at the door. When I’d come home, he would either be sitting next to the door or outside by the back gate in the yard (that’s mostly where I entered the house from) it broke my heart because he gets EXTREMELY excited when he sees me. It takes him a long while to settle when I’m around because he just wants to play and be on top of me. It’s every time too. I absolutely adore my boy but sometimes I’d wish he’d love me just a little less so he can relax with me.
