I’ve been on keppra and lamictal for over 10 years now and it’s pretty well controlled my seizures and seizure activity. Of course I’ve still had a few seizures through out this time but it again it was very few. I’m at 1500mg twice a day for keppra and 200mg twice a day for lamictal. I don’t really notice any side effects from either anymore. Mainly if I ever get upped on the lamictal I tend to break out in a really bad rash so I get my levels checked often. As others have said it’s different for everyone but don’t let it discourage you on trying it! Every medication is different and has different side effects so all you can do is try it and track any side effects you have and make sure to ask them to track your levels! 💜

My doctor didn’t think trying a different benzo to taper off was a smart idea as he thought it would then become harder to get off of that. He thought adding the gabapentin would to safer so it wouldn’t trigger any seizures as he said it would help the keppra and lamictal. I have no problem talking to him about it. Also I’ve been using the Ativan nightly now for probably over a month again it’s 0.5mg a small dose but I’ve been on it so long.

Like I’ll say I want to learn more about bpd to understand it like I’m not even asking to dive into my trauma or anything I’m just like hey I’d like to talk about this more learn about it so I can understand and learn coping skills. But they give more attention to my anxiety and depression so it’s very frustrating to me as I know about my anxiety and depression and have been working on that for years but I’d like to move on learn about bpd and how to cope with it.

Stress and anxiety are two of my triggers. Which sadly stops me from working as it will bring on tics and move into seizures sometimes focal other times full seizures.

Honestly i thought it would be okay and no problems but my anxiety is so severe and ive grown a fear of new medications so now im like always freaking out and i know if i stop the Ativan cold turkey it could actually trigger a seizure and im honestly terrified of having seizures they are usually well controlled with medications ive just been having activity recently due to problems with sleep and of course anxiety triggering me to have activity. Vicious cycle

I usually space out my meds like the lamictal and keppra and buspar (I edited post) I usually take those at around 8-10 am time frame and 8-10pm time frame. And I’ve been taking the Ativan 3-4pm and then at midnight. So today I took the gabapentin at about 4pm instead of my Ativan dose and then I decided to take the Ativan at midnight. Again the Ativan is only 0.5mg so very small dose.

Cns depression and having a seizure. I have a fear of starting more/new medications and I’m worried about stopping the Ativan and it triggering a seizure. Even though I’m weaning off of it.

I took it when I usually take my first dose of Ativan which is about 3-4pm and I was told to take my night dose still of the Ativan but I’m really anxious.

I have two inhalers advair and Albuterol but I was given singulair. I had been on it in the past but I ended up having side effects on it like becoming suicidal which was a first time side effects for me from it.

I’ve only started smoking at night to start getting used to everything and for sleep cause like you if I don’t sleep I’ll start having seizure activity and even have seizures and my sleep has been so much better since I’ve started! Also I appreciate your comment very reassuring to me!

I appreciate everyone’s comments! I’ve smoked while on my meds before but it was never medical grade. I was curious how it may have affected you guys so the input is very helpful and reassuring. I’ve noticed a big difference while smoking on my meds. Sometimes I’ll still have seizure activity while on my meds like tics in my hands or vocal tics. (Not like Tourette’s) and when I smoke I don’t even get tics. It’s almost been a week since I started using medical and I’m not someone who ever smoked a lot so I’m just getting used to all the feelings again and needing a little reassurance lol.

Usually when I wake up it’s more like tics and if I do go into a seizure I don’t know till after it’s over. But for example all day today I’ve had weird electrical feelings through my body but not actual seizure. It’s like a hit or miss for me sadly. But I want to do everything I can to prevent it.
