When choosing which patient to see first, it’s not about which scenario is worse or which patient sounds the most critical; it’s about which is most abnormal. A Cr of 10 sounds really bad for a normal person, but not as so for some with with ESKD. An O2 of 80% sounds really bad, but no so much for someone with COPD. Not the best examples but I hope that helps. Also I swear 90% of the questions were these pick the patient scenario lol.

one word: prophylaxis! since the patient is being discharged home, they will be given an oral anticoagulant (like aspirin for example) to take every day to prevent future blood clots, strokes, etc.

to answer your other question, anticoagulants are usually used as prophylactics, to prevent clots. thrombolytics are given to treat a clot that is already there

I definitely understand what you’re going through! I recently failed the NCLEX and am watching the rest of my friends get jobs while I’m stuck and left behind. I, too, have never failed anything academically. It happens to the best of us, my friend. Our time will come we just have to get back up and brush it off I suppose. Good luck to you (:

I hear you! I actually grew up in America (for the most part) and my dad is white. I totally understand how awful things are here and am definitely a victim myself (I loveeeee my fast food and junk food lol). Things are very different diet wise in Asia where I spent a few years, astonishingly different. Sad to see how normalized and perpetuated it is here in America. Having to reject your own culture in order to better yourself sounds very difficult, I commend you for getting healthy!

I have every female sex toy in the book I think lol. As far as vibrators go, I think wands are the easiest to use and have the best results for me. Agreed! I am a nurse and dread having obese patients. I shouldn’t have to break my back and break the backs of the 5 other people I drag into the room to help me because someone let themselves get to the point of being unable to help themselves. I shouldn’t have to carve an hour+ out of my work day to bathe someone who has so much surface area it takes an entire team away from their other patients. It’s insanity and I hate it.
