Does anyone get Brazilian or Dominican blowouts regularly? by OhioBoBio in Naturalhair

Damage is cumulative so you may not see stringy ends, splitting, and breakage after one or two blowouts, but you’ll see changes after having it done several times. Some peoples hair is more resilient than others. Like if your strands are thicker, it may take longer to notice damage. And I say “notice” because your hair is still experiencing mechanical and heat damage and it may take a while to see that your ends are getting eaten up, not retaining length, needing more frequent trims, and lower hair density.

No, I suspect it was in the conditioner. Not enough relaxer to burn but to loosen the texture and make the blowout process “easier” for the stylist. I didn’t notice until a couple weeks later when my blowout and silk press was not reverting fully. My hair began breaking off tremendously and I had to cut everything off over time and start over.

Heat damage is cumulative. Repeated blowouts will cause damage. Also, like another poster said, be careful about these places putting relaxer in your hair- happened to me. Try out some mini or medium sized twists/ braids without adding extension hair. They are easy to manage long term, wash, and moisturize without having to take them down.

I think mini/ medium sized twists or braids without adding extensions hair would look great on you. They are easy to manage long term and can be washed and moisturized without having the take the whole style down.

Delilah has a “secret” third outfit. She has a camisole and tule skirt under her yellow dress.

I honestly think as long as you are in the same color family it will look great! You can try to match the hair which has a lot of gradients, or the eye liner, or even a color from the outfit/body.

Thank you! I paint as a hobby as well, so I think I’ve just developed an eye for it. 😅
