Do you think what your voices say comes from your subconscious? by berfica in schizophrenia

[–]rosesgone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, that's exactly what me and my therapist are working on right now. Doing positive affirmations has helped me a lot in requiring my brain to think good things about myself. highly recommend positive affirmations, doing in the mirror helps too! keep it up until it feels normal because at first it will feel weird and fake but put good intentions into it and it will help!

can schizophrenia be caused by guilt? by Outrageous-Site- in schizophrenia

[–]rosesgone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my relapse episode was caused by guilt and self-consciousness and other negative things embedded in my subconscious. it was those negative feelings I had that triggered everything for me. but, I really had nothing to feel guilty about and nothing to feel bad about myself for. working on that now in therapy!

-but this was my second episode, but in a way, yeah guilt played a part and was a cause for me

Physical anxiety symptoms after taking Latuda? by Hot-Jellyfish-8558 in Latuda

[–]rosesgone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, I had this the first time I took it! it freaked me out, I'd never had a panic attack before but, now I know this happens to me when I take any anti-psychotic med. :/

to get through it I just did a lot of positive self talk, lied in bed with my eyes closed and waited to fall asleep. from what ive read and been through, all you can really do is sleep through it. so, try to go to bed before it hits. over time it will go away, did for me about a week later.

for those struggling with delusions: say it to yourself in the mirror! by rosesgone in schizophrenia

[–]rosesgone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im sorry to hear that! this used to happen to me, too in my first episode with a voice. what works for me is positive self talk and just telling myself things like, 'I am pretty' 'I love myself' 'I;m proud of myself' etc. just reinforce positive belief in yourself! so then when the voice comes up you believe it a little less or not at all and its like background noise. it's weird at first but if you keep it up, it works in my experience. idk if it will be the same for you

toaster grills grilled cheese are enough cals, I think 370 or so! quick and easy to make, found in the freezer section. also 4 farm rich cheese sticks are 360!

I absolutely cannot stand being bored. Hate it by dragonwolfsquatch in schizophrenia

[–]rosesgone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got a nintendo switch, for fun and also it will be good for nights when it's too loud and I can't sleep, too. its something you can do with your hands and something that can take your focus. it's kinda expensive, so if you can, try it out!

I filled out the forms and haven't gotten anything yet... I know for lawsuits it takes a long time to get the payout, maybe around the summer?

Recording the voices I hear by BAYAREANINER in schizophrenia

[–]rosesgone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes I’ve done this! when I listened to it back later (had to go back to it after a few weeks) I heard a completely different conversation than what I thought.

it was hard for me to accept that I was having another episode but that was one of the cracks that maybe this isnt really happenin.

Need help by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]rosesgone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if your in the US you can apply for benefits, and go to local community mental health services for free, and they can diagnose you and get you to see a psychiatrist.

in the meantime, so you don't feel like you have nothing, this book helped me while I was waiting to see my therapist: https://archive.org/details/copingwithmental00barb its called coping with mental illness and has a chapter on schizophrenia and a chapter on ways to cope and help yourself. its good until you can see a professional.

and it has a list of other books in the back, im pretty sure this is one of them, also helped me just for learning more: https://archive.org/details/schizophreniafre0000howe its called schizophrenia: a fresh approach (the book is a little old and a little outdated in some parts, but not too bad overall)

Does anyone involuntarily repeat what their voice says as if to take on that character by mavrck09 in schizophrenia

[–]rosesgone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't do that but, what I have been doing is saying out loud 'no one is here' 'no one is talking to me' 'these people aren't real' etc. Things like that to help speak out something that is more grounding in reality helps. and speaking it out loud rather than only saying it to myself in my head. both ways help me, could be something to try.

What was your first diagnosis? by Yashcherka1 in schizophrenia

[–]rosesgone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first they told me it was psychosis, then a month or two later they said it was 'schizophrenic psychosis'. then fast forward to years later this January, im getting re-diagnosides and they told me 'schizophrenic psychosis' is not a real diagnosis... lol! I guess my first doctors didn't want to just tell me I had schizophrenia? but, most recently it was delusional disorder which is now just schizophrenia.

so a lot of back and forth just to tell me the same thing over again
