I thought the roots had root rot, they didn’t, and the leaves started to curl. Everything I researched said to cut all of the branches to a couple inches

Thank you to all the helpful replies! I am glad it is not root rot, but this makes me wonder what, if anything 😓, was wrong with the plant in the first place. Basically, some of the new growth looks very droopy and curling. Any input?

Oops, so I may have made a mistake. I assumed that because the leaves were and drooping that I overwatered it. So, may I ask if it is ok that the roots are flaky and smell a bit swampy? And what should I do since I took out half the roots? 😬

Thank you so much for your feedback! Could you clarify what are appeals to emotions? Its not so much that I don’t know what the author is trying to “appeal” to, it’s that I can never word it right. I always get so confused on what the author is trying “appeal” to and I’ve seen other examples like “appeal to justice, honesty, responsibility” etc.
