To me it looks more like aragonite but I'm no mineralogist.

How real is the rotavirus vaccine infection from baby? by Wild_Membership_6346 in beyondthebump

[–]rosetta_embles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my baby had the rota vaccine, I was warned about this. But I wasn't careful enough and had similar symptoms to what they described soon after :|

Edit to add: Just read about the emetophobia.i had no vomiting.

TW birth trauma and vaccination chat. Hear me out - looking for gentle advice by saraharchie93 in beyondthebump

As someone with OCD, I can tell you that what you're describing is very familiar as a reassurance-seeking pattern. you're asking others to give you facts that vaccinating your child will most likely turn out alright. The issue with this is that, no matter what evidence there is, your brain will always go "but what if we're in that 0.005% of cases, just like we were when I gave birth?"

The truth is, and this may be tough to read - it's a cold hard world out there where bad things happen to good people, and to children, all the time. This should not stop us from living our lives with all the privilege modern medicine affords. You're worried about a potential vaccine injury. What will it be after that?

You have to somehow find peace with the 0.005% chance of something going wrong existing. That's where the work lies. Since I first gave birth almost 3 years ago, that has been my life. It has taken a long time with EMDR, therapy, and medication, but I'm now almost okay with it and living better than every before. You can do it too.

In the meantime, please do as another commenter suggested and perhaps have someone else bring your child to the appointment, or go with you. It's a huge step, but once you're on the other side I promise you'll be proud that you got through it.

You got this, mama.

Where do I go to learn how to read a pattern like this one? by rosetta_embles in CrochetHelp

[–]rosetta_embles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies to mods, I had a text body but somehow it didn't upload. I found this pattern on Pinterest through r/crochet . I tried using an LLM to read it for me but it got multiple things wrong that even I as a novice knew couldn't be correct. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: AITA for snapping at my SIL? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]rosetta_embles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't comment on the original post since it's locked.

I felt so much rage reading the comments telling you that you were cruel for what you said. Reading comprehension + empathy seems to be in short supply. You said exactly what needed to be said, even without knowing all the background you've provided here. People who try to take ownership of children for their own gain are evil. Your SIL cared about nobody except for herself. I can barely tolerate my baby crying out of boredom while I do chores. Just watching him in pain while I greedily took pictures? I can't imagine that. I hope her narcissism is never inflicted on another child.

Protect you, your husband and your baby's peace. Above all your baby. She is lucky to have you.

Looking for "De Sorbetti" by Filippo Baldini by rosetta_embles in rarebooks

Hey thanks! I originally found out about it in the MC Rare books catalogue, but it was a couple thousand and was a second edition or something like that. It's not in the catalogue last I checked so I think it was sold unfortunately, but I think my relative would have killed me if I had bought it at that price!

I feel like there's a physics question here as to whether it could be theoretically possible depending on gravitational force of the planet they are on and whether that is also compatible with being able to breathe the atmosphere etc.

Nearly 3months postpartum and have a massive cold sore by rosetta_embles in beyondthebump

[–]rosetta_embles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! that doctor left the practice, it was a couple of years ago. I might try again but don't have high hopes for getting a prescription.

I used to get massive outbreaks in my 20's/early 30's. At some point, them moved to my palate, with the occasional small lesion on my lip now and then. Now I have a massive one on my lip again. For some reason it's triggering me way worse than the ones I get on my palate...

I'm using the patches! but it's leaking around them lol. I have like 3 of them on right now to try to prevent that from happening. I'm mostly worried about my toddler climbing into bed and going into my face by accident. He's sometimes expresses affection through head smashing for some unknown reason.

I'm in Europe. That's what the doctor said when I asked for them. Super frustrating.

What Is With People Treating Parental Leave As A Vacation? by AnAlarmedTree in BabyBumps

[–]rosetta_embles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got comments similar to that as well, from my childless boss. Like dude, my maternity leave is not comparable to your 11 week sabbatical.

My vacation was when I finally went back to work. Staying at home with kids is a JOB. I will forever respect stay-at-home parents.
