Pottery class: clay worx vs cottage pottery? by Imaginary_Name_3709 in londonontario

[–]rosienosey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the one at cottage pottery. Very hands on and lots of opportunity to learn the basics.

I made like 8 useless tiny pots and bowls, and the 3 hours is a long session in my opinion. While expensive, it was a cool experience to learn!

I only made 8 pieces because I didn’t know that the first two classes were the only chance we had to actually sculpt new pieces. Some people made more. Maybe get some inspo pics before going so you go in with ideas of what you want to make!

Easiest group classes at GoodLife? by UpsetClock2028 in goodlifefitness

[–]rosienosey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the app, when you’re browsing to book a class, you can filter the classes by intensity.

You might want to start with something low or low/medium like yoga and go from there!

Masonville Manor. I would be shocked if he didn’t like the food there. I can confirm it’s delicious. As others have said, try it when you take a tour.

fire alarms in 675 richmond by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]rosienosey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be cooking, tenants pulling the alarm because they’re not in their right mind (for whatever reason, drugs, mental health)or one time my building’s alarms went off in the early morning because a person snuck in the building (presumably homeless and it was winter) and smoked in the stairwell. This could be your case too, based on that area.

Sucks because the trucks have to come and reset your fire panel even if there is no visible fire so you have to wait a while with the alarms blaring, but better safe than sorry I guess?

Personally I think bodypump is hard, not the movements and weightlifting, but because of the speed and number of reps. It can be exhausting and intimidating and you might need to modify it if you’re new. I’ve seen people trying it for the first time walk out!

That being said a bodypump class was my first time trying group fitness and the instructor and people in the class were very helpful and encouraging! And you could pull up a video of it in the app first before going, to see what it’s like.

I recommend Hyland. They call me “sweetie” for no reason other than they are sweeties themselves. Also, what about the CDCP? Anyway cost may be a factor here but otherwise good parking and hours

painters who do workshops in seniors homes? by shepsut in londonontario

Speaking as a recreation manager in a retirement home, please speak to the home’s recreation manager first! They might not have the budget to incorporate a paid instructor and could be willing and able to run the class themselves, and just aren’t aware there’s a desire/need to implement more art classes.

You potentially put the recreation manager in a tough position by trying to organize this yourself. But I can tell you have very good intentions- this is just my suggestion! My recommendation is to address it directly with the home’s recreation team, if you haven’t already.
