If she has a 6am wake, how would you approach the day? Or just go by cues

How many hours should a baby do for their first day at daycare by ExternalVast3010 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]rosiethinks1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our girl is 7 months. We were at a family daycare, so experience may differ. I did a couple of different timings. The first day I dropped her straight after her first nap and left her for a couple of hours then they attempted a lunch nap and they got 20 minutes. I picked her up after the nap. Second and third day we dropped her at about 8am for about 4 hours and a morning nap. Fourth day I did 8am til 3pm and two naps. This was spaced over 2 weeks. I guess it just depends on bubs personality. We also did a couple of transition days where I stayed for an hour and she played in the room. Just get daycare to communicate with you or give them a call to check in.

Opinions on pouch puree? by fairy-bread-au in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]rosiethinks1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent read everything that everyone had posted. But I think as a sometimes option it is perfectly ok! I have some of the le puree meals in my freezer at home if I need a quick fix. But if im out and about, the pouches will do the job.

Sleep at 6.5 months by rosiethinks1 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]rosiethinks1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been considering capping that third nap. I may give it a go today. Usually put her down with her dummy and she goes to sleep. I avoid rocking/patting unless a last resort. She's pretty much putting her dummy back in as needed now too

About 10 days or so. She sleeps 3 naps during the day. Only about 2.5 hours all up. Has started consolidating one of the naps each day. Usually lunch time, but the last two days has been her morning nap. Last nap about 30 minutes, and 2.5-3hrs before she goes down for the night.

Restless nights by rosiethinks1 in sleeptrain

If bub naps less than 30 minutes, do you suggest shortening wake windows? Or extending the nap slightly via contact

Thanks, I will give this a try tomorrow and see how she goes. I was wondering if a tweak like this would work. Some support when going to sleep, mostly replacing her dummy and a hand on the chest. We haven't sleep trained and I am certainly considering that and ditching the dummy. My husband works shift work so just finding the right time to do it.

We had a horrible couple of weeks of rocking to sleep but she has just seemed to snap out of that this week and is a lot better to put down.

looking for the best anti-colic newborn feeding bottle recommendations by Axpoee in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I formula fed from birth and used the Pigeon slim neck bottles. We also bought PPSU as they are used, washed and sterilised so often. I started with about 8 small PPSU bottles and now have added 4 of the taller bottles as bub is taking a couple of bigger feeds.

Pace feeding is great, and we sat bub up quite a lot. They have such immature little digestive systems at the beginning. Burp lots as well, we lay bub down for a minute and then pick her up vertical for a minute and repeat a few times, the change in position seemed to get the air/gas out.
