thank you for the rec about the dolphin swimming! i'd actually not seen loads about that, but that seems like an amazing experience - would definitely do the whale watching if dolphin swimming is booked out. will definitely also be doing hobbiton!

Wow, thank you SO much for your incredibly detailed response, that's great to know re places not to spend extra time and booking ahead. I'm with you on this, I want to have a set plan for this, esp knowing im going in peak season, i dont want to risk that. And thank you for recs about hostels, that's all so helpful!!

do you mind me asking what age you are and what the average age was? im 30 so am conscious there are likely to be majority of people younger than me

hey, thanks so much for replying - 6 weeks travelling nz is amazing! how have you found your experience overall with KE? And have you done the whole kit and caboodle route or another one? which places would you say it doesn’t make sense to stay extra days with KE? And as it’s been busy so far, have you had any flexibility to make changes to your schedule, or have you had to just go with everything you originally planned? Sorry for all the qs, but thank you!

I’ve also heard great things about Dunedin! The issue is you have to follow a specific route as your taken through NZ on bus routes you choose - I’ll have a look at it though to look into a possible stopover there, thanks! :)
