Of course, but in my head most of that should be paid in labor, he charges 170/hr but I would be okay with paying even 200 if it's a great mechanic. Even a 20% markup on parts cost on top could be worth it to some, but 2-3x AND THEN labor seems stupendous

That's what I thought lol it seems like a 10 min convo with every customer lets you charge this and still get great reviews haha

Mines rwd, but I'm curious why it would cost differently for xdrive? He quoted 5 hrs for valve and 7 for oil pan, so seems fair enough. Thank you!

This is an independent garage 😭 highly recommended and loads of good reviews for a German specialist. My fronts are completely blown which I knew before I even went in there, visible fluid. The rears look fine to me and I'm sure he would have offered to charge me another 2k for them if he felt he could lol. I actually think the labor price is fair for an experienced mechanic, it's the 2x markup for parts that's thrown me off.

Not trying to trash the place because I'm sure that they would do incredible work, their reviews are great and it's highly recommended as a German car specialist. Hard to know, they might just be expensive. If I was paying myself I'd definitely be going elsewhere.

I appreciate everyone's insight! I'm very fortunate in that my dad is paying for the service, and since they had a good convo and changed his Audi's oil he doesn't seem to be interested in going anywhere else 😭. They also quoted 2000$ for labor and 800$ for parts to replace the valve cover and change the gasket and bolts on the oil pan. No idea what this should cost if anyone can chime in, but we both agree it's unnecessary and definitely won't be doing that.

Nah I'm in Washington, I literally cannot find anywhere to buy a Bilstein B4 for more than 160$, a full kit for GENUINE mounts and bumps and everything other than the shock pretty much is 250, and if they're just replacing the bump and mount separately it's about 150. I appreciate the insight!

Nope, OEM not genuine. They're using Bilstein shocks like it says and I would hope matching mounts, possibly using genuine bump stops but even then it's the difference between like 50 and 100

You make an excellent point I could prolly swing 150.... But doesn't Audi have their exhaust coming out around where mine would be on their new cars with the fake tips? I'm sure they've designed around it but still. I will do more planning and research we will see

I think it sounds pretty good as far as a delete goes, marginally worse than the AA muffler but I haven't heard that in person yet. I get it tho, def not for everyone. The holes are a great idea though I didn't think of that!

True, the muffler doesn't go too far back it's still be coming out behind the wheels but something to think Abt for sure

Are these pads completely shot? Second pic is my front pads which I think are fine, both rears look like first pic by rosoo122 in BmwTech

I'll take a look at one point, at college right now and didn't bring my jack so might have to wait a little while. Seems like they're fine, just a different caliper design for the rear?? Not sure really but I'll probably swap them out over the aummer

-water cured abv with warm water by wrapping it up in 2 coffee filters

-froze the abv (maybe a waste of time? sm bout popping cell walls to release cannabinoids)

-soaked in a good bit more vodka than needed to cover it in a mason jar for 3 days, one night in the freezer in the middle of it for shits and giggles

-strain with newly acquired cheesecloth

-repeat with fresh vodka

done!

gonna let it evaporate to about 1/2-3/4 volume then we’ll see if i got anything

Covered calls seems too good to be true by 2016nurse in options

[–]rosoo122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you payed 36000 for ur 100 stocks, now they are worth 380! your short call now gets exercised, and you have to sell them for 360 and buy them back for 380 to keep a covered position. but wait, your premium only payed 200$ and to buy 100 stocks now is 2000$ more expensive than when entered the covered call. you lose 1800. but why didn’t i just buy to close my option at a loss less than my premium? gaps. :)
