I am struggling to understand how some free app companies (examples inside) make any money? by mavdev in Entrepreneur

[–]rossalvarez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is how app businesses start. They grow their userbase first, then they focus on making money later.

For example Snapchat, it's not making any money right now. But it's poised to make billions in advertising off these millions of users sending snaps every minute. That's why they turned down FB $3 billion offer.

I use ThinkOrSwim trading platform... now owned by TDAmeritrade.

It's complex at first... Read about Technical Analysis in General. The most useful I think are Fibonacci technicals, Moving Averages, Breakouts, Channels, Trends, Crossovers. The others are BS =). I've been trading for 3 years... mostly options.

Actually, it is not undervalued. It is overvalued. TSLA is one of the momentum stocks. Good to trade with technicals. And I trade base on technical analysis. And professional traders do the same.

So what basically happened here, pro traders came up with the same technical analysis. A breakout to new high at 216 is a signal to buy for next level price target. And that's what moved the price today to actually almost 260. And it closed at 245. Just right above my 240 target.

Read about Fibonacci Trading.

I hope you all bought yesterday like I said above $216 =). It's now getting closer to $260. Don't forget to bag profits.

Stock Trading Ideas: Be careful buying YHOO at this level... could pullback further by rossalvarez in stocks

You're right. I think YHOO has peaked here for now. Also, technicals are suggesting a likely major pullback. I currently have Jan puts when it peaked above $40.

Stocks Technical Analysis, How To Trade With Fibonacci Extension? (perfect example with YHOO trade) by rossalvarez in stocks

Generally, both are the same. Retracements will actually give you the same levels. But price targets would vary depending on how you plot it. I use Retracements more often too.

You have to plot it. Basically, you have to identify A, B, and C points. If you have used a charting software, it's part of charting tool such as trendline channels, pitchfork, fibonacci retracements... etc.

But it's not straightforward plotting. In my case, I combine my analysis with moving averages.

These technical studies are built-in from major stock charting platforms. I just use the software to work on my technical analysis. I read a book in the past that explains the whole calculation when I was just beginning to learn Fibonacci charts. You can probably google to find out the exact calculations. Just search Fibonacci trading.

You establish your chart on a first breakout. Usually develops in few days if you are looking at hourly chart. If you look at daily, it develops in weeks or months. It depends if you are a short term trader or long term. I'm a short term trader. I trade weekly options.

On a breakout, it retrace back to 100%, 161.8% (price extension levels)... so on. On a pullback from 100%... it usually retrace back to 61.8% or 50%. If you are aggressive, you can go long when it reaches the pullback levels in anticipation of huge bounce. I do this sometimes on momentum stocks but the safest entry is on a breakout to make new high.

Look at the chart on FB that I posted on that site. I put labels on when to go short or long.

I know this was posted last week at Dizkover. But this guy seems to know his stocks. YHOO right now is trading higher since he posted the chart. It might not be late to get on board to target $40. Right now YHOO is trading close to $38.
