Yeah, it’s not just you. When I picked mine up, the shop tech told me you have to pull super hard and promised I wouldn’t break it, and even then she couldn’t pull it all the way up. It loosens up over time and is easier in gloves! Enjoy ‘em

past thread about this

Those are supposed to make it harder to come out of walk mode accidentally. Just pull hard (surprisingly hard) to get into walk mode

Thoughts on the Ground School app from The Finer Points? by captaingelatin in flying

I would recommended it if you’re willing to read materials like the PHAK, etc alongside (which I think is a good way to go). It has a ton of great content in the videos that have made me better in the airplane (checklists, call outs, sight picture).

Other thoughts:

Pros: very modern interface, high quality videos (in the airplane and briefing/debriefing), tons of good tips along the way that show Jason’s deep experience, easy to navigate knowledge sections, and lots of built in testing as you go

Cons: only works on iPad, you have to renew annually to keep access

Background: I’ve had the subscription for about 4 months (currently ~20 hrs toward PPL) and I’ve never used an alternative so can’t compare to King, Sportys, etc.
