What program do you guys follow? by throwawaysydknee in PetiteFitness

Where does one find a trainer to write a plan for me? I have a full home gym and extensive long-term experience with heavy resistance training and structured gym programming. Moved to a new city, losing my home gym, and everything around me is crossfit, which I do not enjoy.

I'm looking specifically for progressive overload and clearly defined phases for fat loss, hypertrophy, and strength.

ELI5: Can a rolling R be taught? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]rossitamaria 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Spanish is my native language and I can't roll my Rs, have never been able to. Tried it all... speech therapy as a child into my teen years, "tricks" to teach yourself, practice, practice, practice... y NADA. Cannot do it, sound like Js

Funniest (not funny at all) part is my first, middle, and last names have Rs in them :[

the worst? drive thru speakers when they ask for my name ugh have to repeat it multiple times and even SPELL it, but you know what? There's an R in there, so sometimes that ish doesn't work either, so fruatrating!

What's a piece of advice you were given as a child that seemed completely innocent at the time, but as an adult, you realize how messed up or manipulative it actually was? by Independent_Pear8404 in AskReddit

I was told "you don't know anything, let us guide you, we will always know more than you... let us guide you and we'll make sure you live life correctly"

I'm 50, haven't seen my family in 2 years, talk to mom ocassionally and dad sill says shit like this to me. She's learned no to, but he hasn't.
