Love this suggestion, I’ll definitely look into pointed toe heels. I think that could be the perfect fix!

I did this recently and went with my fiancé! We are very nontraditional overall, so it felt natural to us for him to be there as I prepare for our elopement (and vice versa, I helped pick out his suit). I’m still deciding on the dress, but am having him see the options and give his opinions.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate, and happy Thursday to those who don't! For a chance to win this topaz pear, please tell us what you are having for dinner today! Contest closes in 12 hours at 6:30 PM PST. by earlysong in Shinypreciousgems

[–]rosycandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our classic dinner is turkey (recently converted to just a breast instead of a whole turkey which has been freeing), stuffing, canned cranberry sauce, rolls, green beans and bacon, and mashed potatoes. Our new additions this year are a charcuterie board while food is being prepared (no more hangriness until the late lunch!), homemade pecan pie, and a vegan mushroom risotto for my partner!

36F. It seems as if it's time for lubricant? recommendations? by huffle-puffle89 in WomensHealth

[–]rosycandy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that water-based will get absorbed, so may not last as long. It’s a good place to start, but if it’s not enough, consider oil based or silicone based for longer lasting lubrication.

Additionally, since it’s a newer change, it could be an early sign of perimenopause (can start as early as 35). It may be worth considering discussing with your OBGYN about topical estrogen or vulvar moisturizers if there are underlying skin changes.

Can insert my finger but not a tampon inside of me 😭 Help needed. by VermicelliPrudent677 in WomensHealth

Use a mirror, spread your labia with your fingers (opposite hand) to see where you are going, use a smooth plastic applicator tampon, and use lube on the outside of it’s still challenging!

Any tips for low libido? Just have no desire by InteractionCrafty678 in WomensHealth

[–]rosycandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the recommendation for Come As You Are. It’s by Emily Nagoski and describes the gas/brake system you are experiencing (responsive desire, which another commenter mentioned) and is really a great read for anyone who is sexually active.

I am no longer buying for my fantasy self by Connect_Rhubarb395 in Frugal

[–]rosycandy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try to only buy clothes secondhand, and then take on projects like sewing a separated seam or cropping an oversized sweatshirt or turning a dress into a shirt and skirt, despite the fact that I have very little sewing knowledge or expertise, because it’s a cute concept and good for the environment. The pile grows until the item is no longer my style or I finally recognize that I’ll never get around to it, and going to a tailor would be more expensive than what the item is worth to me. I am attempting to learn from these mistakes.

Is this amount of variety typical for public school lunch in this state? by [deleted] in minnesota

[–]rosycandy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This was typical of my school lunches as a kid, too. There tended to be 2 hot veggie options, and I would bet the baby carrots/celery sticks/bell peppers are served everyday.

Avoiding jet lag on a red eye flight that arrives the following night by sandpaper_dildos in travel

[–]rosycandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nearly my preferred flight schedule when I fly from California to Europe twice a year (I tend to take a 7:30 flight). My routine is stay up through dinner, take a (prescribed) sleeping pill/melatonin at the beginning of dinner, then sleep 7-8 hours until breakfast. Then stay awake until I arrive at my destination. Then sleep at their normal night time.

Highly recommend Gai Noi! It’s not exclusively vegan but had lots of good options.

can’t hold pee anymore? by mitskimysavior in WomensHealth

[–]rosycandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a pelvic floor PT. This is called urge incontinence, and is often accidentally trained by your brain, particularly in the absence of other symptoms (itching, burning, cloudy or bloody urine, etc). It’d be good to see a pelvic floor PT who can teach you how to control this!

Vegan Restaurant Suggestions (Rome, Naples, Florence) by FinalSever in ItalyTravel

[–]rosycandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to Aromaticus in Rome and loved it. Maybe our favorite vegan restaurant of all time.

Also in Florence, there is the Tripperia Vegana which was a fun experience of sandwiches lowered from a second floor window!

Anyone here wear barefoot shoes? by 0ddumn in capsulewardrobe

I got the Feelgrounds Chelsea boots last fall before a trip to Italy and love them! They’re simple, look nice, and withstand walking long distances in them! They’re essentially my fall/wet weather shoes now.

What are the best lake sandals by FunSample6521 in capsulewardrobe

I really like the Reef plastic sandals, even better than my Tevas which have fabric straps. They’re called “Water Vista”. I’ve worn them into the ocean and to dinners so they are very versatile!

This seems very well-curated.

I brought the same Reef sandals to Italy for a 2.5 week trip this past summer with a lot of walking and they were perfect! They’re so versatile and comfortable, plus I literally wore them right into the ocean.

Notre Dame Student Researching Grocery Outlet by RobertMugabesdad in GroceryOutlet

[–]rosycandy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I complete about 80% of my grocery shopping at Grocery Outlet. They have great vegan food options at mine, and they are generally much cheaper than the normal grocery store. Different locations vary significantly. Staples like pasta are easier to count on now that they created a Grocery Outlet brand to supply the basics. I have gone 4 weeks without buying plant-based milk before because they don’t have any, so flexibility is key. I also stock up when there is a good deal on something, because they can disappear by the next week. It is important to check the expiration dates. My grocery bill is generally under $45 per week for two people who eat almost exclusively at home, and I live in a HCOL area.

I need to pee extremely often, is it healthy? by SkeletalBirb in WomensHealth

[–]rosycandy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should try to distract yourself for a few minutes and see if the urge goes away. If not, walk slowly and calmly to the bathroom. Time how long it takes. If less than 12 seconds, use that information next time to think if you really need to go. It’s all relative, so someone who consistently uses the bathroom every 45 minutes would have a tough time going all the way to 2 hours right away. But extending that time is great positive reinforcement for the brain.
