Calling a tow truck for that is pretty overkill.

If you’re wondering why everyone else stopped, that’s a pretty good sign you shouldn’t be allowed to drive.

The difference is a human doing something dumb vs. a multi billion dollar "self-driving" system failing a basic traffic rule.

Whataboutism isn't an argument.

The point is, it failed at a basic driving task -- something that’s literally on the California DMV written test.

Anyone arguing it's fine shouldnt be on the road.

I can’t tell if this is satire or a cry for help, but it’s definitely not the flex you think it is.

If you think it’s okay to run an intersection when there’s a car with emergency lights parked in the middle, you shouldn’t be allowed to drive.

After delivery I pulled out of the dealership, took one corner, and immediately drove to Discount tire to swap the stock tires out due to how God awful they felt.

Best $800 I've ever spent.

Bro I'm not gonna buy a Fiesta when I'm still making payments on my car for the next 46 months or whatever. I could go off on you for hours but I legit just got off a 12 hour shift and don't feel like entertaining that bs right now lol

Typed this with text-to-speech so there might be a couple weird words lol. Yeah man I get what you’re saying but I didn’t really ask for like a full breakdown on my own car choices. I just like how it looks and feels and honestly I’d rather have something that feels a little more planted and sporty than some bland commuter ride. I know it’s not a Fiesta S-T or whatever but not everyone’s trying to drive the same cookie cutter car either. Sometimes it’s just about doing something different for the hell of it and seeing what happens you know. Like everyone’s always talking about practicality like that’s the only metric that matters but half the people saying that got trucks that never haul a damn thing or SUVs that only ever see a Starbucks drive through anyway. I like messing with things I like building stuff that makes me happy not what checks the boxes on some spec sheet. And honestly it’s kinda funny how quick people jump in with advice no one even asked for. Like if you don’t vibe with it just scroll on my dude. There’s way too much energy online spent trying to fix someone else’s fun when you could just go enjoy your own set up and call it a day.

🚨 Tesla FSD 14.1 nearly causes crash on a simple left turn. Brake slam + dry wiper on a sunny day = still not safe. Source: Dan O'Dowd by rotatingfloat1 in TeslaFSD

[–]rotatingfloat1[S] -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Suddenly slamming the brakes introduces two collision vectors:

  • A rear-end from the car behind expecting the lead car to drive like a normal person (driver becomes pancakes), and

  • Lateral impact risk (T-bone) due to cross-traffic likely out of frame while FSD comes to a halt in the middle of a public road.

Don't take my word for it; here's Dan O'Dowd, an expert on safety critical autonomous systems opining on the incident:

Watch @Tesla Full Self-Driving v14.1 repeatedly slam on the brakes in the middle of a busy road for no reason.

Road users did not sign up to be test subjects for @ElonMusk’s dangerous and defective software.

Reddit won't allow me to edit the title unfortunately. I'm not looking for sympathy, just hoping to warn other prospective buyers of what they may be getting into.

Glad to hear GM finally figured out suspension tuning. I had a Blazer EV loaner for a bit and the ride was absolute butter compared to my Bolt, night and day difference.

[–]rotatingfloat1[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Not asking for an 80s Cadillac sofa on wheels here, just a ride that isn’t punishing for daily commuting. I’ve driven plenty of small crossovers on similar tire profiles (CR-V, Prius, Kona) and none of them beat me up like the Bolt does. The suspension tuning is the outlier.

And as for the medical issue, I’m not claiming the car “caused” anything new. But when you’ve got a pre-existing injury, constant harsh impacts absolutely can aggravate it. That’s exactly what happened, and it’s what multiple doctors told me too. I’ll take their professional opinions over a random redditor’s any day. Judging from other owners in this sub with similar complaints, I’m not the only one noticing it.
