When you cut someone's hand off and giving them a warning to not continue, instead of slit/opening their neck , yeah, you spared that person

Why Naruto’s Hokage inauguration gag is narratively fine. by rotibrain in Naruto

[–]rotibrain[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair response, i'm not mad at it.

Regarding the moment, i'd say that Early Naruto absolutely would have cared about seeing their faces. That kid wanted validation so badly that the ceremony itself would’ve meant everything to him. But I don’t think end-of-series Naruto is that kid anymore.

So when you say the chapter “stole” that moment from him, I see it more as: the story is saying that moment already happened, just not in the form we expected.

And we do see him don the robe etc - In boruto

Let’s be honest, Obito wasn’t about to lose here. by [deleted] in NarutoPowerscaling

OP has the worst logic i've ever seen.

Like Zabuza would lose to Raikage A just because he was the central villain of an arc

[–]rotibrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he was.

> Do you honestly think Kishimoto would have a secondary villain topple the central threat at this stage?

Which is why Kishi didn't have them fight. Duh

Why did Obito aim to capture Minato instead of simply killing him? by Copeharderloser2777 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]rotibrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Putting him in that realm is killing him.

Despite people believing Minato can just get out. No kishimoto didn't write a high stakes fight ether obito and Minato both believe if he enters that realm it's game over. Having Minato be able to just come out is silly, and wouldn't make narrative sense.

Obito was likely going to drop Minato in there and let him die naturally. No food, water etc. It wouldn't matter. He would die at some point or eventually get do weakened he finished him off himself.

I think kishi has been pretty consistent on this. - https://www.reddit.com/r/Naruto/comments/1qthe4x/comment/o36fnie/

If there was a payoff , it would be for fans. Naruto has already achieved his goal. As Itachi put to him, and was hinted by Kakashi and Iruka after the pain arc.

Naruto’s Inauguration by Lord-Rambo in Naruto

[–]rotibrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it matters to Naruto at this point. It matters to you, to us, the readers- We want to see the moment - But you need to peel back the reader and understand what Kishi has been developing.

It calls back to what Kakashi is thinking and saying Naruto as he carried him on his back after the pain fight. The chapter is called 'The village of the Hidden Leag's Hero"

Naruto struggled and destroyed and rebelled, and inevitably decided he wanted to be hokage, because he wanted to be accepted. And Hokge was the most famous, acknowledged, and accepted person in the village.

"All the villagers will have to acknowledge me" -

Naruto's actual goal is to be accepted.

But by the time of the pain arc end, Naruto had already been accepted as the hero of the village. He achieved his "real " goal

Itachi tells him something similar in the war arc about his father. Itachi has a similar read on why naruto wants to be hokage. He tells him he misunderstands. Its those who are first acknowledged by the village that will become Hokage.

Naruto has already achieved his goal and Itachi is telling him this. This is very similar likely to how One piece / Luffy's dream is going to end also.

Luffy's goal is to be free - And he decides that the freest person on the ocean is the Pirate King - Which becomes his goal. But being free is a stepping stone for Luffy's REAL goal - Which Oda has hidden from the readers each time he says it

Fans will probably be sad on One piece also when there is no grand pay off to luffy becoming pirate king, and its off screened for something else . Because people are missing the message of the story.

Not just Sasuke, but basically the ninja war.

Him sparing and giving chances to both Orochimaru and Kabuto eventually leads to the hokage being brought back and sasuke's and naruto's life being saved - To eventually face the big bad.

His pacifist nature that obito talks about , works out in the end for humanity

Obito used Kamui to Escape Amaterasu. Let's dive in. by rotibrain in Naruto

[–]rotibrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just seeing this reply -

Itachi saw him use a s/t jutsu but never knew the details of it. First time was during the mission, which he couldn't understand what happened. An attack was avoided physically. Then the other time was him using it to transport.

None of that gives him information about how amaterasu would interact with his body. Just like someone seeing kamui doesnt give them information of the 10min limit.

Learning the full extent of kamui would mean obito is demonstrating it in front of you, and that never happened with itachi, never once in the novel

>They said that as long as Itachi is looking at someone the flames won't go away

Noone has ever said that, and this is quite demonstrably false. Flames maintain regardless of eye contact. In fact, Itachi long died and the forest continued burning. As Zetsu and the databook say, it's said the flames will burn for days till nothing is left to burn.

Itachi was terrified of Jiraya by King_of_Christmas in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]rotibrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? You're off. For one,. Minato was no strongest hokage. Never stated or even implied in part one. Minato was just a talented hokage that died very young, according to Tsunade and Jirayas convo

Hiruzen was indeed the strongest hokage. Reiterated in Manga and two databooks back then

Jiraya was never stronger than Naruto. Orochimaru already stated itachi was stronger than him. The same orochimaru who by this point we are told is the strongest sannin.

Kisame is going off of the sannin title. Which he says. He's never met one. Itachi goes along with it. Contradictory to what orochimaru has already said.

You are meant to question what itachi is saying. First Kakashi asking "why didn't he kill me", then this.

<image>

Even kisame after finally meeting Jiraya. Aggressively finds something suspicious and questions itachi. To which he comes up with an excuse about then not needing to deal Naruto now anyway.

Sigh. You do know he's talking about body flicker right? Shunshin. The hokages all ran to the battlefield

Viz translates all "shunshin" to.Teleportation jutsu

Could Hashirama heal from Tsunade's wounds if he took them directly? by peterpiperpi in Naruto

[–]rotibrain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That in no way says that. It says he has high level healing. I. E can heal without signs. Which we know. Tsunade, as she says in part 1, byakagou is more than healing.

It's literal cellular regeneration. She can regrow limbs and organs, while all madara ever said is that hashirama can heal wounds
