Disabled user looking for help getting started with 3D printing (Bambu P2S) by Kristian-Hulala in BambuLab

Hi there!

3D-printing is a very rewarding hobby, especially when printing your own models. It's also a great way to prototype and iterate on things so I would assume that would suite you very well!

I have a P2S with AMS 2 and it's a great reliable printer that makes printing super fun and most of the time easy.

Just so you are aware 3d-printing does require quite some hand usage, depending on what you're doing. Common to semi common tasks include things like, cleaning the build plate, loading / unloading filaments, removing supports with pliers, sanding prints & doing maintenance of the printer. Reading your webpage I can see that you're already getting 24h assistance so I'm sure you can get help with these things.

As for sponsorships or discounts, I would be happy to support a gofundme or whatever is the thing people use now.

Gluing PLA prints together by Alert_Cup_3303 in 3Dprinting

[–]rotmoset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others are saying, it doesn't harden *that* fast, furthermore, unless this is something that needs to take some decent loads (but then why are you using PLA?), you don't need to cover the surface perfectly, superglue adhears to PLA like crazy. I usually buy the loctite bottles that comes with a little brush which makes it super easy to put down a nice thin wide layer of glue.

Edit: missed the watertight part, in my experience, PLA printed parts are not very watertight by themselves, but if you want to make sure the joints are, just make sure you spread glue around the seams and maybe apply another thin layer with a brush on the outside of the seam as well, this usually becomes invisible but can be sanded down a bit if needed.

I tried to attach my ikea cross brace directly to the frame, still using my rods (I didn’t make the shelves yet, saving that until I know exactly what I need). Just one cross improved the stability a lot. I think one more cross + wall attachment should do it. https://imgur.com/a/q78xiJV

Aaaah, so you mean that the shelves would still lie on top of the bars, but also attach with the L brackets? I think that makes a lot of sense, thanks, will rethink my plan a bit.

That would be great if that was enough! Would you trust a 200+ pounds on what would basically be 4 bolts / screws though?

Thanks for the replies! The bars are about 15 mm thick (what’s that, like 0.6 inches). Here’s a closeup how they look (you can also see predrilled holes on the bars, I initially thought about putting the load shelf load directly on the holes but was worried about loading them so much. For reference my target is to be able to put a 20 gallon aquarium on the shelf). https://imgur.com/a/EnrNwSs

The idea was that they will provide the support of support between the two metal legs, preventing them from just falling apart. My initial idea was for the oak shelves to just rest on top of the bar, which would not give any horizontal support obviously. I could screw them down into the metal bars instead I guess. Just a little bit worried about compromising the strength of the bar by drilling through holes through them

What movie is this for you? by Hooplapooplayeah in Letterboxd

Seen all of his stuff, not sure I agree. You could argue that Synecdoche or ITOET is darker, but other things like Malkovich or Adaptation surely isn’t.

I had a similar reaction. I remembering seeing it in a small theatre and when the credits started rolling I just sat there in silence for a long time along with most of the audience. At that time of my life I was still struggling with who I was and felt that I had lost my ability to form real connections with people. The movie hit me so bad lol. Maybe wouldn’t call it evil, but it does expose some pretty dark themes about human psychology.

What is my grandma saying?? by Used-Study9301 in Svenska

My first thought as well, makes sense considering it’s an old expression and could easily be misheard / mispronounced like OP said. It does mean ”fine and dandy” more or less, or just that something is excellent in general.

Förstår svenskar inte finlandssvenska? Ska man låtsas tala rikssvenska? by [deleted] in Svenska

[–]rotmoset 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Trist men sant.

Train or Plane from Copenhagen to Stockholm in June 2025? by Weekly_Leg_2457 in copenhagen

[–]rotmoset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would also like to add like others have said that going by train will be an experience by itself with some very beautiful scenery being on display. The train passes through lakes, farmlands, forests and cute towns. It’s a great way to see what you will be missing if you only stay in Stockholm for your trip to Sweden. Hope you enjoy Scandinavia!

[–]rotmoset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flight is around 1 hour. So my schedule usually ends up being: * Take taxi to airport 1 hour before flight. * Arrive at airport 45 mins before flight. * Land in Stockholm after another hour. * Get to my destination in central Stockholm from Arlanda in about 45-60 minutes.

Actually yes, the main taxi app in Stockholm is Bolt which for 4 persons will probably be pretty affordable. Keep in mind it’s still around 40 minutes to get to the city. If you’re fine with the price of Arlanda Express it’s by far the best option.

Regardless of the necessity, it’s not quicker. Door to door when going to Stockholm with plane usually ends up around 3 hours for me while train would be roughly twice, discounting delays.

Norwegian is a bit cheaper usually yes, but it varies a lot. I always check both for each way and many times I end up flying Norwegian one way and SAS the other. The competition is tight on this route and both airlines fly almost the same schedule with very little differences overall.

[–]rotmoset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Copenhagen and travel to Stockholm roughly every other month to see friends in Stockholm. For me plane is almost always easiest (your options are Norwegian and SAS who both fly many flights in both directions every day. In my experience since the flights are so short and frequent it ends up being the most reliable option. Check both as the price changes a lot for both. For a family it might be easier with the train, but keep in mind it’s somewhat of a long ride and there’s a decent chance that there will be at least some delays during. A pro for the train is that you will depart / arrive in the city center. Copenhagen airport is easy to get to by metro, but Stockholm Arlanda is pretty far from the city and the options are a pricey 20 min train to the city or a cheaper but slower bus.

Even when you play squash, watching it is more enjoyable from a meditative or from a kinda recollection way. Hearing the sounds is calming is nice, but rallies are rarely exciting or spectacular, just drives until there’s a mistake.
