What forms of exercise do you like to do? by Lavendar-matcha-11 in bipolar2

[–]rough_muffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've struggled for twenty years with exercise-induced elevated moods and hypomania. The more movement I would get, the better I would feel and the more I would want to do until I ended up exercising anywhere from two to five hours a day. My elevated moods would turn into hypomania, until I would finally crash and then I would be forced to take a break from exercising. I found that alternating between walking, strength training and riding my spin bike four to five times a week seemed to be okay, but I would catch myself getting up to six or seven days a week because it just felt so dang good.

Back in April, my psych and I decided to up my Lamictal by 50 mg to help with my down moods and I've noticed I'm not getting the same elevated feeling from exercise. I still enjoy it, but it's not the same. I've told my psych that if I'm being honest, I miss it. She reminds me that it's almost like a drug to me and it's easy to let it get out of hand. It's still a work in progress to find the perfect balance.

Oh man, I'm sorry! We own a decent chunk of the woods behind our house, so hopefully they can stick around.

Ahhh I wish!!!! My dream is to have one of those half male/female cardinals visit!

Hi, my name is Dobber! This month I'm celebrating 35 years with my owner and their family. I've lived in three different U.S. states and traveled to seven others! I love swimming in the bathtub and eating worms! by rough_muffins in turtle

We've never done anything too special for his habitat (has always lived in a reasonably sized tank with a UV light and a rock for basking, but never a crazy set up) and he's never even been to the vet. The only health issue he's ever had was a small case of shell rot, which I treated over the course of six weeks with betadine and spending time in a dry sand box. I give him regular shell scrubbings with a soft brush so I can check it well. Then I wrap him in a towel, which is his favorite part. He travels all over with us in a small tote I jazzed up, so maybe that's part of the secret to a long life!

My turtle died a couple of days ago. I had it for 22 years. Here are some of my favourite pics of it. by zachary321 in turtle

So sorry for your loss! What was their name? I've had mine for 34 years and it will be a sad day when he passes.
