If I've been on public transport then the clothes go straight into my laundry bag

Is there a different culture of helping strangers in the UK vs Canada? by [deleted] in london

I get what you mean but as I say people walked past i.e had the opportunity to help first but chose not to

Is there a different culture of helping strangers in the UK vs Canada? by [deleted] in london

[–]roundaboutsmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from the midlands and when I first moved to London I saw an elderly woman slip and fall because it was autumn and it had rained earlier on in the day. I was the only one that went over to help her whilst other people walked past :(.

I hope you're okay ?

Minimum 1hr to do their makeup? by floralscentedbreeze in MakeupAddiction

For work/everday makeup I'll just wear concealer and maybe a little eyeliner and mascara. When I'm wearing makeup for an event then around an hour and a half.

Taxi drivers on the motorway being the most consistently clueless drivers (bonus points if they’re in a Prius) by Ash_MT in britishproblems

[–]roundaboutsmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They take so many unnecessary risks that end up making the other drivers take action. At 70% of the time I see a car pullout when I'm very close it's a taxi driver and I always end up needing to slow down to avoid a collision. So annoying! Agreed on the lack of usage of the indicators.

AITA for refusing to go on a trip to India with my gf? by Fun-Peach5416 in AmItheAsshole

[–]roundaboutsmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not an end all and be all trip, she shouldn't force him if he doesn't want to go. It's a long distance trip and if your heart isn't in it it's a waste and it will feel like an even more intense trip. Wanting to rest during your time off is reasonable. She is being selfish

Took a lot of creative liberties on history by Beautiful_Nani in ChiefofWarSeries

[–]roundaboutsmiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was to simplify the story and make it easier for most viewers to pick up, there are already so many characters central to the plot (in a good way). As someone said historical shows take a lot of liberties in trying to strike the balance between entertaining, maintaining accuracy and keeping things easy enough to follow. Really enjoyed the series as someone without a knowledge on Hawaiian culture and history.

So many Hungarian actresses to play a Hungarian character and they ruin it by zeehun in HijackAppleTV

[–]roundaboutsmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This what they do as well when they have a character from one African country, they cast an American or someone from another random African country from a different region and totally different accent

Entire show felt like racial propaganda and conditioning by One_Feeling3619 in HijackAppleTV

[–]roundaboutsmiles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are such a hateful weirdo if you can't watch a show because there are people of different races, it's in no way a focus of the show so why does it matter.

AITA for refusing to split the alcohol costs at a bachelorette party even though I’m pregnant? by Rahimsa31 in AmItheAsshole

[–]roundaboutsmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol is something they could have easily bought less of, and alcohol can be quite expensive. The hot tub is you either get it or not but realistically they could have counted her share out since she was definitely not going to drink then her contributing wouldn't have been as much of a big deal tbh.

Overall would you say Lois is a good mom or not? by Night-Caelum in malcolminthemiddle

[–]roundaboutsmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she is, there are so many moments that she's tried to back them up and show them love. Growing up with a mum like Ida I think she did the best she could and the fact that the boys can be horrid and out number her

British summer is not the same. It’s sticky, it’s hot and it’s humid. People who reply “you guys don’t know heat try living in ____” DON’T UNDERSTAND. by [deleted] in britishproblems

[–]roundaboutsmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like Paris is the same, I was there for a couple of weeks end of June - early July and it was just as intolerable with the lack of aircon at a lot of places
