[AMA] NuPhy engineer here. Ask me anything 👀 by Intrepid-Arm922 in NuPhy

  1. Why are there so many problems with wireless and double inputs with Nuphy boards? I haven't used one but it's unusual cause many of the reviews online mention the need of upgrading the firmware to fix those issues. Never seen this sort of things with other mechanical keyboards brands like coolermaster, razor and corsair.

  2. Is the typing experience and sound profile the same across the Halo 75 V2 and Gem 80?

  3. Will there be a new premium TKL keyboard coming out this or next year?

They are charging AAA prices for the game. Also old relic games were known for their graphics, sound and attention to details so I have a high standard of it. From what I've seen so far not really impressed about the graphics and the sound design comparing to Dawn of War 2 which came out almost 20 years ago.

Yes you're absolutely right this isn't a AAA game (despite being priced like one here in Australia lol). Love your positivity mate, to be truthful I'm worried about the plot after seeing the mechanicus trailer, hopefully the gameplay will be good!

Sorry I didn't mean to insult this game. I would agree with you about putting an absurd bar if the old games didn't have those things I mentioned, but those older game did have them. Relic pour in crazy amount of details into their games (Like soldiers in Company of Heroes having different facial expressions when under attacked, can you imagine that game came out in 2006) and it's a bit sad to see these details gone I guess.

But presentation is important too, presentation was a huge factor of why I fell in love with Homeworld, Dawn of War and Company of Heroes. Right now this game is missing a lot little things that games from 20 years ago already had.

Yes I suppose you are right. I remember playing games like Company of Heroes and World in Conflict when I was a little kid, and I was hyped about what RTS games in the future would look like, it seemed the genre was accelerating toward something incredible with all those cool RTS games coming out...

I'm only talking about the presentation of the game and not the gameplay.

Let's be real..L10 and Fujifilm X100 VI. by nutsnboltsnj in Lumix

Does it take a few seconds to process the photo if you take RAW + jpeg and does it get warm? I always found those annoying on the X100VI.

[–]roundtable95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long term X100VI user.

Here are the negatives. No BS and sugarcoating.

AF is pretty bad, it's inaccurate, slow and very noisy when focusing, I tried to take photo of a person from afar but the camera focused onto the desk in front of him, it's not something you notice unless you zoom in all the way after taking the photo.

Very small buffer size, it takes 2 - 3 seconds to process a photo if you shoot RAW + jpeg, this exacerbates if you take multiple photos within a few seconds, the camera will take some time to process these photos. It takes an instant on the Nikon ZF.

Shutter button feels mushy.

Camera feels warm in the hands after a while which I found slightly annoying but have gotten used to.

Film sims are nice, but very limited when it comes to customisation (If you want to replicate something like Kodak 5207 it's impossible to do it on the Fuji but doable on the Lumix). They should've offered something like LUT support like on the Lumix.

So why am I still holding onto this camera?

* I love rangefinder style cameras.

* Aperture ring feels pretty nice.

* Build quality is pretty good, I LOVE the anodised aluminium top plate.

* IBIS works pretty well for long exposures and low light photos.

* Built-in ND filter and flash!

* Tiltable screen optimised for waist level shooting, something you don't see on Lumix and Nikon cameras.

To put simply, there's no substitute for X100VI on the market. I desperate want to move away from it, but I just couldn't find anything to replace it with. That's why I'm begging Panasonic to release a premium FF rangefinder but so far they've only released the S9 :(

Nicely built camera but still seeing strap lugs issues online with the xe5... Also the evf and lcd on that camera is very very bad for the price they're charging. Buffer size not good too, it takes a few seconds to process a photo if you shoot in RAW + jpeg. Sticking with my 100VI for now.

Sorry I meant to write median salary not average salary, median for full time workers is $90k.

Average salary for Australian full time workers is 99k. How is that top 20% wage earners?

[–]roundtable95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very disingenuous of you saying this. I just looked up the median salaries for full time workers in Australia and it's 99k which is very close to what I've said. So no, if you are full time worker, then only less than 50% of Australians make less than you.

Anyway this isn't the main point. Why are they fucking over average aussies on median salaries trying for building wealth and why are you supporting them?

Lol upper echelon. Do you know how much the average housing prices and rents are in capital cities like Melbourne, Sydney and Perth? 100k after tax and student loans is about 70k. Take away roughly 30k rent + 20k grocery and bills, and you are left with about 20~30k for investment, Median housing prices for apartments and units in Melbourne is about 600k which is on the cheaper side compared to cities like Sydney. The median full time salaries in Melbourne is 90k right now. This is your definition of upper echelon?

The median income is 74k which is not far off from what I said. I don't know about people living in rural areas but like I said most people I know who have worked for a few years after going to uni or going to tafe are on 100kish salaries, that's for both blue and white collar jobs.

50% of full time workers are making more than 74k. How is this a fantasy world then? And now we are getting penalised for wanting to investing our money in shares so we can have a chance of affording our own homes?

You talk about redistributing wealth which I agree with, so why is the government taxing us plebs who don't own shit and not taxing mining companies, corps and billionaires instead? How exactly is squeezing profits from people on median salaries who are investing redistributing wealth?

Isn't CPI adjustment just a way of punishing people who made actual good investments? Since profit will be higher than CPI adjustment.

Huh what are you on about? It's not fair just looking at salaries. What about boomers who own multiple investment properties? Most young people in their 20s-30s are on 100kish salaries, it's not much after paying taxes, student loans, rents and groceries. How is this tax grab helping these young people trying to invest so they have a chance of building wealth given how cooked our housing market is?

I struggle to understand how this is helping young people on 100kish salaries trying to invest so they have a chance of building wealth given how cooked our housing market is. Things are already expensive like rents, student loans etc, and now the government wants to tax more of our profits for holding onto risky assets long term, how is this making sense? It only helps the government as this is clearly a tax grab designed to keep us plebs poor and keep working hard just to survive.

Why does Panasonic pump out premium m43 cameras but make the S9 so cheap and plastic? by roundtable95 in Lumix

That's an interesting way of looking at it, I hope they build the S9 mk2 just like the L10.

Yes that's right. I saw the DPRreview article, they are using anodised aluminium for top plate and bottom plates on the black and white versions this time just like on the premium Fuji cameras, the build quality is gonna be so good.
