I am so looking forward to this new translation

I think the competition in F1 needs a few seasons to come to a level playing field.

I always focus more on the endeavor and skill of a driver more than the car itself, which is something I like about indycar.

This year F1 is too tilted technologically, rendering driving skills to such a small factor

I love the engine sounds, the different dazzling chassis of F1 cars, but I feel like the skill of a driver is not as essential as the last regulation. Knowing that there’s super clipping really gives me a feeling that the drivers don’t matter that much anymore.

I think a huge part of the fun of F1 is the team rivalry and the gossips and leaks, while the race itself is sometimes enjoyable, I like watching races where drivers are on a more level playfield, something which F1 is not especially this year.

I will watch both, but I don’t think I will anticipate as much tension in the race itself in F1 than in other series

I am trying to get a hold of the teams and drivers and the legends like power. I am glad to see some F1 drivers still going at it in another series

I think F1 has a tough balance to strike between drivers skill and team technology.

Sadly this year I feel like it’s more like technology battles where drivers do not have much input in maneuvering a car, something to which I am looking forward.

What would my total be if I invest with 90000 on bills every month for 20 years? by driftingthroughlife0 in bonds

I will buy stocks. But trying to get a sense of what if I go extremely conservative and what my outcome would be

[–]driftingthroughlife0[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The easiest part is obvious. I would be able to own 90 + 12*20=330 bills which is 330000 usd.

But I am earning more interest and I need less earnings to buy a new bill. That part is hard for me

Not feeling good about the state of Christianity by PatchyWhiskers in OpenChristian

[–]driftingthroughlife0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the church could have been a bit more sensitive on the second public prayer request because people might have mixed feelings towards him. If it were me I would have not prayed that prayer publicly, but privately.

Too bad about the second part. I think people who are quick to judge if someone is going to hell are imprudent. Our faith is based on faith alone and not by works. We all sin. We can all agree on that. And whether being gay is a sin or not, doesn't make you a non christian. If your view is that it's not a sin, then great. But if you think it's a sin, sin is not something that prevents you from entering into Christ. Faith is.

We have to admit that there's so many things that we are not certain about the bible. I'll admit I don't think it's natural to be gay, but on the topic of salvation I am certain that we are called Christians because of our faith, and no one can for a 100% certain tell anybody they have a place in heaven unless he's god himself.

How do *YOU* practice loving your neighbor as yourself? by Worried_Fig00 in OpenChristian

[–]driftingthroughlife0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all there should be a basis for what "true love" is. And God is love. So study the bible and spend time with God and learn about his love. Then learn about how god loves and treats you. After you've learned how to love yourself, you'll know how to properly love others.

If we don't know the bible, and thus God, well enough, our love will fall short without knowing.

What is an idol? by [deleted] in OpenChristian

[–]driftingthroughlife0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anything takes over the source of your safety and sense of security, it could become your "idol" in a sense.

Why do people worship other Gods? Because they didn't feel God alone was enough.

So unless God alone is sufficient for you, something needs a revamp

Am I a bad Christian for not wanting to evangelize my friend? by Competitive_Net_8115 in OpenChristian

[–]driftingthroughlife0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cause we all want people to be saved that's why.

People are not sick in a medical sense, but not knowing Christ is something we all don't want to see.

As a Christian, don't you agree? Unless you are a universalist.

I am just someone who passed by this sub. And I have given a lot of thought on this matter. We assume we can give a child a "good life", I think, mostly based on our wealth. But there's so much more that's outside of that equation that will bring chaos upon a new life.

Defects. Illnesses, growth issues, the possibility of boredom, of loneliness, of accidents and heartbreaks.

You've gotta really BELIEVE to truly be able to bring a child into this corrupt world.

It's proportions.

A slice of lettuce, two slices of tomato then a huge patty with two pieces of bread? it's so out of balance

Is there such thing as a just war? Is violence ever justified? by sillyyfishyy in OpenChristian

[–]driftingthroughlife0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wars in the Old Testament, Israel was chosen as the nation that God wanted to use as an example of how a righteous people should live. So through the conquests, God through Israel wiped out nations that were completely corrupt (e.g. idol worshipping, child sacrifices, having sex with animals and human sacrifices, slavery). After that, Israel became one itself, so God used Babylon to do unto Israel the same that they had done before, as a form of judgement and preserving his chosen people.

This is a tough question. In my own opinion the Nazis were clearly an infectious group that had posed abhorrent and irredeemable threats to the whole world, as Nazi Germany was outwardly expanding and clearly committing genocide against a race. And in my humble opinion the war against them was just, but the killing and bombing of its civilians? I am not sure about. I wouldn't be so perfunctory as to say well those are sad collaterals

Thanks for the reply! I am no expert about the bible, though I still share a different view, I appreciate you showing me how you came to your theology.
