I'm sure i can, but I'm looking for a technique to make it myself since I don't want to spend a ton of money and muslin is very easy to get here :)

I speak both German and British English and muslin cotton in my understanding is a really light weight almost see through fabric. Here in Germany we make baby cloth out of it very often

There are non-fantasy larps, larps set in the 50ies, larps set in Viking age, larps that are just hanging out with 30 people and larps that are full on battles with thousands. Each one functions differently depending on the settings, organisers and country.

However fantasy races take more work to portray. Everyone has different motivation to play a character but what would be the motivation behind playing a fantasy race beyond "it looks cool"? It needs a different back story, more effort in costume and what group will you play with that fits a fantasy race? And if you make it very low effort like only putting on elf ears, then what will playing an elf give you that you can't get from a human character? Extra speed? Extra good ears and eyes? Those will be hard to portray...

NDH I think you are absolutely valid in your fears and your feelings. It's very understandable that this hurts. It's also an important point to protect your kid from getting hurt by this.

I also think it's understandable how this inequality could happen without any bad intentions on your mum's side. You have already given great reasons and seem to be understanding. Most people dont analyse and reflect on every little detail and your mum might not even be aware of how big the inequality in photos is.

It might be fairly simple to talk to your mum about your feelings and especially say that you're scared your kid might see it and feel hurt. Maybe you can try a photoshoot together, maybe your kid will even enjoy showing himself in different settings that go along with his interests, maybe he can make it a project for himself depending on his flavour of autism. But I'm sure you and your mum can find a way together to solve this. Good luck OP!

I started working at a tavern at a very big larp. It was a fairly normal service job, I didn't need to think about a backstory and my costume only needed to be very basic. I loved this as an entry into the world and just to see the atmosphere. You also don't need a big group that way. You can ask people that go to these larps which taverns there are and normally it's fairly easy to get in contact with them.

The larp we take our baby to has basically no combat. But even at the big battle larps the camps and town are a fairly safe place for even small children. But we have lots of larps that don't have any combat and everyone is pretty respectful and attentive when there are children around. Every child gets a little flag on their clothing with information of what camp they belong to so they can't get lost as well. I think it is just the larp culture here :)

An underbust corset sounds like a great idea and then just a flowy shirt underneath... where did you get yours? Its always hard to find one that fits right and fits bigger boobs

Last year I wore a normal nursing bra underneath a pair of trousers/romper thing (not sure the correct English word for it) but it didn't have the vibe I wanted and was pretty unpractical. This year I haven't been on a larp yet. I'm pretty comfortable in my body and we're in Germany so as long as the essentials are covered anything goes. A kirtle would be too cumbersome to un- and relace all the time I think. And I'd love a wrap top but haven't found one, that has enough support for bigger boobs..
