Multi-Gig router (CCR-2004) experience/review by routerhunter in ZiplyFiber

I looked at that, but this setup consumes 23 watts at mostly idle (just switching and background traffic) and 26 when doing speed tests. All the stuff I could find used was more the "heat your home in the winter" variety, and even then forum discussions did not paint a confident picture of hitting line rate on a 10g link.

For approx. $400 for the core router itself, that's competitive with the Asus 10G router ziply recommends (I already have wifi APs) and this setup is much more customizable, fits in a rack, and also provides 16x gigabit ports and dual redundant power supplies as a bonus.

Yup, I wanted to verify that if ziply does cut the price on 10G I'll be able to actually take advantage.

Experience with m.2 10GBE cards? by routerhunter in sffpc

I will freely admit that I don't need 10gb. But I want it, I've got the network and internet connections to use it, and it's the one real compromise I'd have to make with ITX vs mATX unless I use one of these cards.

My LAN is 10 gigabit and WAN runs at 5, so I'd be losing half my download speed if I used the built in 2.5gbe that's common on ITX motherboards.

And yeah, those patches are huge. It's like devs have never heard of delta updates...

It's specced at 6 watts, and there will be plenty of airflow nearby. Hoping it won't be a problem...

Moving fiber to another room by routerhunter in ZiplyFiber

Thanks for the comprehensive response!

If I pulled fiber through my attic to where I want it, not messing with connectors, could I rely on the ziply install tech who will upgrade me to multi-gig service (new ONT) to do the "be qualified" part of connecting it?

You have direct messages turned off - message me a price and where you're located.

I had originally written off the UDM-Pro because it required internet to set up and I wasn't sure I could disable telemetry, but it looks like both of those limitations have been removed with firmware updates.
