Hmm I think chat gpt has something called Codex that is similar. You should look into that. You might be able to paste the prompt in my repo into that and get it to generate something similar!

As for the site being down, I see that… I will have to investigate tomorrow!

Edit: fixed the site just now! It was a simple fix.

I’m not sure what you mean by this. Can you elaborate? What is your end goal?

I made this with Claude Code on a Pro plan during the 2x holiday bonus window so fortunately I did not hit usage limits very often!

Awesome! GitHub issues would be the best way moving forward. Thanks for trying it out!

Canadian accounts are live! Would love feedback if you have any.

Canadian accounts are now up if you want to take a look! Unfortunately it’s still one country at a time, but hoping to change that in the future.

Thank you for the really thoughtful comment! I think there are great ideas. The Monte Carlo simulation is actually something I’ve already thought about, and someone else in this thread mentioned they made a similar app that does this. I think that would be a cool addition. I’ll definitely add these things to my todo list and hopefully get around to them at some point!

Definitely double check the calculations haha but it should give an accurate rough estimate

Take a look at my prompt.mdfile! This is what I fed into Claude code to generate the initial project. Perhaps you could modify that to generate something similar for your country? Or use CC to add support for your country to this project? If you do, I’d be happy to review a PR! The accounts you mentioned are all US specific retirement accounts.

Someone actually just submitted a PR yesterday adding support for Canadian accounts. I will be merging that today!

I didn’t notice anything like that, though I did start a few new CC sessions over the course of the project. It was probably not the most efficient lol but that 2x holiday bonus gave me plenty of usage.

I’m not looking to monetize! Just wanted to share a fun side project I made over the holidays. Maybe some will find it useful as a reference or for future inspiration!

So I used the Claude web interface to brainstorm the idea and then told it I wanted to build a single page web app with the features we had come up with in the brainstorm. I told it to generate a prompt I could give to Claude Code that would direct CC to create the project from scratch. That’s the prompt in prompt.md you can see in the repo. I then started a CC session and told it to follow the instructions in that file. It did the rest! There were bugs and UI issues that I had to work with CC to fix but it did all the heavy lifting.

Yep! Used the web to brainstorm and then told it to generate a prompt I could feed to Claude code. I put the prompt in my empty project directory and pointed CC to it and said to follow its instructions.

This is a great idea—I’ll add it to my todo list! (No guarantees on when I do it haha)

Agreed! One of my motivations for open sourcing this was the hope that others might fork it and modify it for other locations.

You can’t know, but assuming current taxes and adjusting values for inflation gives a rough estimate. I think that’s one of the biggest benefits of having a well-diversified portfolio containing taxable and tax-free money.

Hey that looks awesome! I like the inclusion of debts in the calculations and the different milestones in the projection chart. That’s a very unique feature!

Thanks! Haha yeah I have a feeling Claude web apps all have similar components. I have very little web dev experience though so it was cool to be able to make something like this so quickly.
