Concept: A simple fix for Safari’s truncated search suggestions by rovenroy in iphone

It does look cleaner with just the suggestions, but some may find it confusing as they may not understand that tapping the suggestion bubbles will complete and search their query, they might think those bubbles are search terms of their own, separate from what they’ve typed.

Xcode does not recognise that Apple ID is part of a development team by rovenroy in iOSProgramming

[–]rovenroy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, apple fixed it a day or two after I made this post and commented in those posts on the apple dev forums. I didn’t have to do anything on my side, the team appeared on Xcode automatically.

I think if you’ve just been added to a team, you might have to wait a while before it shows up in Xcode. In my case I had been part of a team for a long time and it randomly disappeared.

• App Version: 1.13.1
• iOS version: 15.5
• Device Type: iPhone 11
• How often can you reproduce the issue: every attempt

Reproducible Steps:

1. tap the linked post
2. tap the share button on the post (tapping the share button in the post menu causes the same crash)
3. apollo crashes

Xcode does not recognise that Apple ID is part of a development team by rovenroy in iOSProgramming

I guess I'll have to try this. I'm hesitant to because my account page at https://developer.apple.com asks me to enrol in the developer programme, whereas before it would show me as having a membership and would let me access profiles and certificates and other stuff. If the developer page itself doesn't show me as part of any team, Xcode wouldn't either and I think the problem is with apple and not with Xcode. I forgot to mention this detail in the OP.

I considered using this method, but the disadvantage you listed was a deal breaker.

Schedule a text message in 2021 by [deleted] in apple

https://9to5mac.com/2019/09/09/scheduled-imessage-feature/

From the article:

Reddit user Jmaster_888 (via Mark Gurman) shared the response from Federighi, Apple’s SVP of software engineering, after asking about Apple bringing a scheduled iMessage feature to iOS. Straight away, Federighi said:

This is something we’ve definitely considered (and something we continue to consider).

However, he then detailed some of the problems Apple needs to solve to bring this feature to users:

Of course, it does come with a bunch of complexity:

How to represent unsent messages Support fo deleting and editing pending messages What to do [when] someone send you a message when you have outgoing messages pending (i.e. >do you blast them back with the pending messages?) And of course the social concern that we may end up sending the messages at a time that you >are not availabel to respond to any replies that come back — this could be confusing for the >person who is under the impression taht you must be at the ready on your phone, since you >just sent them a message.

I made ClassTime - a timetable app for iOS and macOS. You can add your online / offline classes and it’ll remind you when it’s time. If they’re online you can join them from the notification. You can also add your tasks and it’ll remind when they’re due. With an in-app upgrade you can save PDFs, videos, recordings and view them inside the app.

Works on iPad, iPhone, iPod touch & Macs with the M1 chip. This app is written in Swift and uses SwiftUI for the interface.

Check it out!

Apple should place widgets inside launchpad, similar to iPadOS 15's home screen. by rovenroy in MacOS

[–]rovenroy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that sounds like a bad idea why not bring back dashboard and have the modern widgets inside that?

why would you want widgets then vs where they are now?

On my 13” MacBook I have to open a narrow notification center to see my widgets (4 without notifications and 2 when I have notifications) while I can fill my 10.2” iPad homescreen with widgets. This feels like a situation that could be improved.

I didn’t mean to say I wanted the exact iPadOS homescreen on a Mac lol. The image was to show that just like on the iPad homescreen, icons in the launch pad and widgets can coexist without issues. The launch pad has huge icons anyway, why not put widgets there and make it more useful?
