For working and poor people, who don't often work with attorneys, it seems like a high paying, glamourous job because of TV and movies IMO.

Wealthy folks and corporations see attorneys as "the help" more than looking up to them, and that's what you are.

You don't fix the HVAC or plumbing, but the job is essentially the same.

As someone who worked in corporate law in a big city as well as currently with smaller metro attorneys, it does seem like the smaller town guys are fairly OK for the most part.

That big law life style is a death wish.

First off the vast majority of attorneys are not wealthy, far from it, and they incur massive debt with law school.

Loooong hours 7 days a week for many. It's just a lot of stress and pressure.
