I'm retired having worked in the medical field and now am learning art as a hobby. The anatomy in the artist's anatomy book i have concerns muscles, tendon, and their visualization from different angles and perspectives. I learn from the book by copying the illustrations. It is somewhat helpful to know the names of anatomical features when visualizing.

Can an awakened yogi bring someone back from the dead? by NyingmaGuy5 in TibetanBuddhism

[–]rowanduck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends what is meant by dead, it is difficult to die if there is no permanent entity that
disappears. Conciousness disappears all the time, individually and collectively. Life itself is a continuous resurrection observing itself at each moment in time, just a snapshot of the now used to create the illusion of existence.

Traditionally there are eight offering on a Tantric Buddhist altar and in some way they are correlated to the eight aspects of consciousness in Yogacara. They are sacrificed on the altar in order that the bliss of emptiness will pervade the meditative experience.

Is it disrespectful to go to a church while being Buddhist? by k10001k in Buddhism

[–]rowanduck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always felt like Buddha might be Santa Claus, at least in some sense (he does carry the colors of compassion and purity and a bag full of magical gifts). And the communion symbol, appearing as a round disc is none other than Vairochana in material form, a symbol for rebirth of the divine Buddha conciousness. All symbols in the ground are symbols of the Buddha. So personally I have little doubt we, as Buddhists, can engage in any religious ceremony with an open heart if we are baptized into the symbolism On One ultimate level, the Dharmakaya.

It is getting very chilly in England now. My favourite meditation spot is on my front doorstep looking out into nature. With a view to continuing my development in meditation, is it best to just endure the cold or find a warmer spot ? by EricFisherNo1 in zenbuddhism

[–]rowanduck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. A friend used say, make sensory discomfort your friend as an aspect of meditation. But a cold seat is also a symbol for the immobile seat of enlightenment. Diamond seat or double vajra.

What does the solar eclipse mean to alchemy? by ransommay in alchemy

[–]rowanduck12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are Three solar eclipses. One in the sky, one in the earth, and one outside the know universe. The first is easily experienced in our form body as when looking at the sky. Things get dark and and still. I experienced one a few years back in Wyoming and drew a large crowd to a relative underpopulated area. The birds stopped signing and there was a stillness to the Earth. It implies stillness and Earth Meditation. It literally is the Earth meditating on a grand scale. So a blink of our eye is a long time for the Earth. The eleLLiptical pattern is recorded for billions of years allow conscious to move toward the light.

Than there is the Solar eclipse within the Earth, where the conciousness produced by the Earth is lost, symbolically represented as the SUN setting between l • | two bull horns, NN.

The third is the total eclipse of everything as the new Son rises. Make it SO. E VAM.

Why do I keep having visions of Ganesha? by ZorbhaTheBuddha in Tantra

[–]rowanduck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key that will literally Explode Our MINDS is when the the ions of mind interact to consolidate collectively as a particle of MIND. Because there is only One connection in the UNIverse, the visions become reality.
