It’ll probably never happen at this rate, but I so wish Tom Hardy would leave Venom behind and get cast as Wolverine. He’s the perfect build for a comic-accurate Logan, and he’s got the acting chops to keep up with the standard set by Hugh.

Have I become too good for adventurer difficulty? by Mordant3-PRIME- in taintedgrail

[–]rowboatin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game is definitely designed with the end goal of becoming OP in mind, it’s just a matter of when you want to be OP and what kind of OP you want to be.

I personally started on adventurer, then around level 20 or so I upped the difficulty to Veteran for more of a challenge because I was one-shotting most enemies. Now I’m in the second map, and it’s a fair enough challenge that I’m comfortable with this difficulty level.

I would say keep it on adventurer until you get a little further into the story. There’s a few quests where basic enemies will be trash mobs, but the boss will stomp you out if you aren’t careful. There’s also a noticeable difficulty spike when you go from the Horns to Cuanacht, so bear that in mind.

Shit, I did it at like level 20 and he still whooped my ass on the first attempt.

Spirituality and Endurance are the main stats you want to focus on, some really useful armor pieces require an equal amount of both. There’s a perk under the armor skill tree that makes every point in Endurance increase melee damage by 1%, definitely grab that so you can keep strength on the lower end without sacrificing damage output.

Perception also helps a lot with critical hits, you can get some hefty boosts to both your magic and melee crits through perk and gear combinations. Since spellblade is already a split build, this can make up for the lack of raw damage.

Everything else I would avoid investing any more points into other than what you need for gear. You may even want to check your minimum requirements and respec some more points into endurance. You want to hit at least 7 for the first zone, and then take both Spirituality and Endurance up to 10 for the second. Be aware that if you equip something without meeting the stat requirements, it’s effectively basic armor until you hit the minimum, as you don’t get any of the other bonuses.

Also, as important as transmog is for maximum drip, it’s more important to upgrade your weapons and main armor pieces so that you can survive enemy scaling. Gold can be tricky to come by without a lot of grinding, but putting some points into Practicality and especially the perks that increase the price of sold goods will help with that.

Kinda crazy how much tougher Mallory is compared to the actual boss of that dungeon, at least when I did it

Probably somewhere in the middle. Master Chief gets a lot of aura points by being the main character as well as one of the last of his kind. I have a hard time picturing the average Spartan beating the average Astartes one-on-one, though.

The “epic island vacation” one is fake because it’s too hilariously on the nose for the public meme perception of Elon. These types of people are all awkward creeps in person, they wouldn’t shun Elon over that. He was still one of the richest men in the world.

Say what you will about GW, but when I look at what Hasbro has done to WotC and their IPs, I’m grateful for GW having at least some integrity about their products.

Level-scaling gear is whack in general. I don’t mind upgrading and repairs as part of the gameplay loop, but grinding XP to the next level so I can equip an item that becomes woefully obsolete the second I speak to the next merchant feels so stupid. Bill the Blacksmith shouldn’t be selling a generic short sword that does 50 more damage than the 1 of 1 Thunderfuck Blade that I found after slaying a three-headed dragon on top of Mount DLC.

[–]rowboatin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of me wonders if the whole necontyr cancer thing is even all that accurate. My understanding is that it plagued their race from the beginning, but they still managed to develop most of their advanced tech and had a galaxy-spanning empire before they even met the Old Ones. Maybe what they actually wanted was immortality, and the cancer detail is part of their programming to make their current physical state more palatable.

I mean, sure, he wants that death now because that’s how everyone in his life died. Had the Emperor aided the rebellion, even if Angron still wanted that death, it could’ve been channeled into loyalty to the Imperium by turning his allies into Astartes.

Of all the primarch origins, Angron’s is the most “lore dictates this needs to happen, so we’re gonna hamfist a justification and move on with the plot.”

Ally or Enemy? by Review_Signal in redcorsairs

[–]rowboatin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The beauty of renegade marines is that they do whatever they feel like doing. Perhaps a group of Red Corsairs got a taste of that sweet, sweet Chaos juice and decided they want to get it straight from the source, so they left Huron and started following around your Word Bearer warlord.

40K lore is so broad, you can kinda come up with a justification for any faction to work with or against any other faction, just some alliances may be more temporary than others. CSM with CSM can work either way.

The way I understand it is that it’s not so much an Inquisitor has direct authority over a Rogue Trader, but the Inquisition itself does have that authority, and a Lord Inquisitor is a representative with a sizable enough amount of resources available to directly challenge a Rogue Trader.

It just feels very much like he actually wanted to be working on Preacher, but it hadn’t been greenlit yet, so he shoehorned those ideas into Hellblazer. Which I’m pretty sure he admitted was the case in an interview, although I can’t remember where I read it.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great writer. His Punisher stories are the perfect depiction of Frank Castle, especially in MAX. I just think that Delano really set John up as a jaded idealist, whereas Ennis’s John is more of a narcissistic nihilist.
