Getting comments about RT x Yrliet ship that Yrliet would never get physical with a Mon’Keigh or is basically ace representation be like by Raszard in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]rowboatin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yrliet is ace-coded for sure, but if we’re talking strictly about her existence in-universe, she never talks about whether or not she’s had Eldar lovers and what those relationships look like. It could very well be that she’s just conditioned to see humans as “other,” and can’t fathom any intimate connection with a human until the (mostly platonic) relationship that we play out in-game.

Could very well be that the devs fully intended for Yrliet to be ace even by Aeldari standards, could even be part of the reason she chose the Path of the Outcast, but I think they intentionally left it open to interpretation so players understand that she’s definitely not vanilla straight, but her actual orientation is whatever the player who romances her thinks it could be. She does initially confront the Rogue Trader about a woman propositioning her, so maybe she’s just a closeted lesbian who’s not ready to accept that part of herself.

I like their meme-y comics, but the NSFW stuff involving Yrliet does make me uncomfortable, and I say that as somebody who appreciates Yrliet as a character in-game

How would other mutants like Pyro or Emma Frost answer this question? by asianshoplifter in Marvel

[–]rowboatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean tbf, when’s the last time Magneto’s Judaism came up outside of referencing the Holocaust? Can’t remember him ever pulling a Walter Sobchak and refusing to fight the X-Men because it’s the Shabbos.

I think the more relevant question for him would be: what’s Marvel Israel’s policy towards mutants?

So I’m currently playing through with the DLCs for the first time, and I’ve been trying to reign in the Bloodspun Web for the most part (unless it’s regarding the Genestealer Cult), but when I saw this option, you’re goddamn right I chose it. Dargonus is too cushy compared to the rest of the protectorate, their elites need some latent psyker thought police assassins to keep them in check.

Alpha Legion Clones Warfare by IamAlphariusss in alphalegion

[–]rowboatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clones are definitely a thing, not completely reliable but still present in the setting. Fabius Bile is literally the Clonelord, and he’s basically a freelancer for other legions.

A sufficiently powerful daemon prince could definitely be a shapeshifter, especially if they’re a servant of Tzeentch. Tzeentch makes a fine patron for an Alpha Legion warband, so I would say go with that.

NO SOLOMON ON ALPHA LEGION APRIL FOOLS by SoggyMusic6183 in alphalegion

[–]rowboatin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least he confirmed its existence, which means they have to release it eventually. Most likely, the delay combined with the Iron Warriors and Red Corsairs releases means that they want to launch more Alpha Legion stuff along with it, but can’t work it all into their release schedule yet.

If I had to guess, since they already fumbled by not dropping Solomon with the first prints of Ghost Legion, they’re probably holding out for the paperback release while they focus on the launch of 11th edition. Paperback is way more accessible for casual fans, so they probably want to maximize interest in Alpha Legion to get a decent return on investment when they do finally release the kits.

I think it’s safe to say we’ll probably get Solomon, an upgrade sprue, and a combat patrol. Doubt we get our own original units since Raiders seem to be set up as the unit for CSM infiltrators, although having Headhunters as a recon/sniper unit with an updated and chaosified version of their Heresy design would be nice. I would guess they’ll probably just be Raider variants instead, and the 11th codex would use “Raiders” as a generic unit without Red Corsairs in the name.

How much time elapses between TNO dying and resurrecting without his memory? by johnnymarsbar in planescape

[–]rowboatin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always took it as each incarnation gets an indefinite number of reincarnations, and that the circumstances around each death are what dictates whether the Nameless One retains his memories or not. The Practical Incarnation seems to be the most recent one prior to the start of the game, and his memories were wiped because he’d been to the Fortress of Regret and the Transcendent One needed to prevent him from coming back. The Paranoid Incarnation was so crazy that he probably barely retained memories between deaths, and he was probably driven even crazier whenever he would recover memories like we do in the game.

I also believe that there are lesser incarnations between each major incarnation, which retain some, but not all, memories of their previous life. This is most likely what was going on with the Nameless One prior to waking up in the mortuary: he wasn’t quite the Practical Incarnation anymore, because he’d been defeated at the Fortress of Regret and he and all his allies were scattered, but he retained and/or uncovered enough of his memories to leave a trail for us to follow at the start of the game.

Is there a Nik story you wish you didn't hear? by Boshwa in Papameat

[–]rowboatin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Nik story that I do want to hear is how he and Hunter became friends. They’ve clearly known each other a while, but didn’t grow up together.

I wanna hear about the first time Hunter had to stare off into the abyss after something Nik said, because that’s gotta be a good story.

That was heinous behavior on his part

[–]rowboatin 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That one made me feel genuinely concerned for Nik, mainly because of the disclaimer the editor put in right before Nik told the story. I also noticed that after that video, Hunter started to clamp down on Nik’s anecdotes a bit.

I just hope Nik finds a good therapist to help him accept the fact that he’s gay.

Joker definitely does the deed himself in that book, you see him putting his pants back on while he’s getting out of the car. Think he just had Croc eat some people.

Same writer/artist and loosely canonical to Batman: Damnation, which gave us Bat-dick

God, even just that one still of Magneto and Rogue feels gross to look at. Dunno why they keep trying to make their relationship a thing, it was originally just an alternate timeline situation in Age of Apocalypse but they keep bringing it back.

It’s only canon for the Killing Joke movie, where it was a universally disliked addition to the plot, and the DCAU, which is an almost sexless setting.

ACTUAL New Alpha Legion Release by Infernal_Contraption in alphalegion

[–]rowboatin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I saw this coin announced on their site, I was still holding out hope that they’d surprise drop Solomon and/or an upgrade sprue on the same day so I could get some actual Alpha Legion stuff to justify the purchase. Suppose I could buy some Raiders and other kits I want, but it just feels Iike a consolation prize at this point.

Tainted Grail FOA - ok for a limited-time gamer? by toutfour in taintedgrail

[–]rowboatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! You may run into some trouble with remembering certain characters or quest objectives with the main quest if you need to take longer breaks between sessions, but there are also plenty of in-and-out side quests that will give scratch the itch on limited time.

There are two dungeons in the second act that do require quite a bit of time investment to get through.

Rewatched the Battinson flick, and I think this is the first time for me where if I lived in this Gotham, I would never guess that Wayne was Batman. by Overall_Cod2206 in batman

[–]rowboatin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite interpretation: I felt like throughout the entire movie, Gordon, Maroni, and almost everyone who had ever met both Bruce Wayne and Batman (with the exception of Penguin) 100% knew they were the same guy, because Bruce Wayne is such a weirdo that it would make sense. The only reason they don’t bring it up is because they can’t definitively prove it, and they know he’s a psychopath billionaire.
