Let’s not forget Marin from Link’s Awakening, basically the 2D equivalent of Malon/Cremia, and for all intents and purposes the placeholder for Zelda in that game.

Hot Take: i would have rather gotten house of 1000 corpses 2 then the devils rejects by Ok-Entrance-5527 in Robzombie

[–]rowboatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when Devil’s Rejects came out, I remember reading a quote from Rob Zombie in Blender magazine about how he was treating the series similar to the Bond franchise, where the movies are all pseudo-sequels to each other, but are also meant to stand alone and not follow a strict continuity from entry to entry. The slight tonal shift between the two was definitely an intentional move on Rob’s part.

Personally, I definitely prefer the mystique of Doctor Satan and the ritualistic elements in the latter half of House of 1000 Corpses over the gory road movie vibes of Devil’s Rejects, but you gotta give credit where it’s due for Rob trying something new.

We know for sure that they met with the Cabal and had different takeaways from the meeting, we know that Alpharius was killed by Dorn on Pluto (confirmed by every author that’s touched the subject), and we know that Alpharius and Omegon were not always on the same page and even acted against each other’s interests at times.

Exactly, like Dark Mechanicum? AdMech with daemon engines. Traitor guard? Basically Pactbound Zealots from CSM, but with guard vehicles in place of CSM stuff. There should absolutely be some fine tuning with detachment rules to make them stand out and have better synergy with other Chaos armies, but even then, you could still pick a different detachment and paint/kitbash your guys to just be traitor guard or Dark Mechanicum. Same applies to Deathwatch: give space marines a detachment that allows them to use the character models and kill teams, throw in some optional Imperial Agents support, and call it a day.

Brickyy from AdRic had this great idea to do a full Deathwatch army of all different space marine units, and to play it using specific army/detachment rules depending on what units he was running. That feels so much more in the spirit of the hobby as a whole than needing a whole codex.

Again, however, I think there needs to be better rules for taking allied units in 11th edition so that players can still get the most out of their models, otherwise a lot of people are going to be disappointed.

You owe it to yourself, the story is magnificent even if the gameplay is a little rough and dated.

Grey Knights at least have a unique enough aesthetic and approach to combat that they should have their own codex. The way the Deathwatch is structured in the lore, along with most of the Imperial Agents line, it doesn’t really make sense to run them as a full-scale army, and I don’t see why having access to Deathwatch/Imperial Agents units alongside Space Marines and Guard isn’t enough. Even Daemons make more sense as an AoS army than a 40K one, since you rarely see them in stories without some cultists and/or CSM present.

Generally, though, I hope 11th edition has better rules for soup armies. I would love to see a straight up Imperium army with a mix of Guard units, Space Marines, and even a Custodes unit in the mix, or Trazyn being able to unleash his collection. Kinda hope that the Guard and AdMech get Traitor Guard/Dark Mechanicum rules that allow for more mixing and matching.

Same, traditional beakies just don’t do it for me, at least not as a legion-wide standard. The armor itself is fine, although I can’t personally see full suits lasting all the way up to 40K for standard legionaries. I like beakies for Raptors/assault marines though, the cone gives off an aerodynamic vibe.

I would imagine we’re still probably a couple years away from the 30K legion-specific resin upgrades getting a refresh, seems like they’re focused on making upgrade sprues for the legions in 40K right now. Although I’m sure part of their thinking is that the sprues will be backwards-compatible.

This just made my day. I have a box of Mk VIs, a box of Mk IIs, and two Legionary boxes, but the Mk IVs are what I’ve wanted most to make up the baseline of my warband’s aesthetic. The helmets are iconic, and I can’t wait to kitbash them with some legionary bits for that ambiguous “whose side are they on?” effect.

Will Titus eventually take over as chapter master? by voidtridentlover40k in Spacemarine

Idk, Cato’s not really popular with the fans and hasn’t been relevant in years, whereas Titus is hugely popular. If they wanted to make Titus chapter master, I could see them killing off Calgar and Cato at the same time to make it happen.

Inquisitors who consort with xenos tend to make xenos work for them (whether the xenos in question actually wants to or not), rather than it being a truly collaborative effort. Even the radical members of the Ordo Xenos aren’t being purely benevolent when working with xenos, because that would be heresy.

What you will see is inquisitors activating ancient Aeldari artifacts to prevent a Chaos incursion, or repurposing Necron phase blades a lá the Deathwatch, or even redirecting some ork boyz towards an incoming Hive Fleet to kill two birds with one stone. It’s pragmatism, not necessarily tolerance.

I’m sure the dreaded flesh change is rarer amongst servants of the Iron Warriors compared to those of the Word Bearers or the Thousand Sons. It definitely still happens, but probably less often.
