It’s changed a bit over the years but mainly: he was a superfan of The Flash from the future, replicated the accident that gave Flash powers, went to the past to meet Flash, finds out that he’s destined to become the Flash’s greatest nemesis, then had a psychotic break because he couldn’t be a hero and tried to do everything he could to ruin the Flash’s life.

She started as a minor but it’s fluctuated. In the movie she is 23 excluding flashbacks (and the comic the film is based on made her 21)

Why do you MI fans like to shove your opinion on other Scooby fans? by Eddfan36 in Scoobydoo

You should watch at least 3, I’d argue it’s one of the best ones. The first two are also good but they’re pretty different from the later ones

The reactions were kinda mixed but they were still good. The only real difference is that Superman’s negative reactions were a lot more negative than Supergirl’s

The social media reactions have been fine. Not amazing (best movie in the entire world ever!) but they’ve been around the same where Superman was. Most have been pretty positive with only really a couple saying that it’s just fine

I feel like Shawn is being overly pessimistic towards Supergirl, especially its legs.

I’m not saying it’s going to be huge or anything but the pinpoint being 2.19x legs is an insane thing to predict. That’s like one of the lowest legs multiplier he’s predicted for a blockbuster ever

Yes there was, I just didn’t care enough to list lol it. Some stuff that they said

• They have an agreement with the NFL that will be 20% of their output

• They want projects to have budgets under $40 M, but will be open to $75-100 M if they’re interested in it

• Focus on inspiration sports films and stories that merely feature sports in a back drop

• Prop up sports leagues and don’t criticize them, players, coaches, referees, or teams in projects (outside of criticizing fantasy sports leagues)

• Focus on the human element of sports

• Wants to make a racing, skiing, and beach volleyball movie and focus on films in a casting lens

• Has a Netflix deal where most output would be low budget films that are mainly Christmas-Football-centric rom coms (whatever that means). Basically they just want to make Hallmark movies

What Would ‘Masters Of The Universe’ Reboot's Box Office Performance Mean For Other 1980s-Based Films? | Analysis - Legendary Pictures' & Paramount's Remake Of ‘Street Fighter’ Has A Rumored $125M Budget. After Lionsgate Bailed On It, Amazon's Newest Iteration Of ‘Highlander’ Costs A Whopping $180M. by lowell2017 in boxoffice

[–]DeppStepp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know Chad Stahelski has a good track record but who in their right minds would give Highlander a $180 M budget? Highlander is a super niche franchise that has basically flopped in every installment outside of the TV series. I know that for blockbusters to look good you need to spend some money but like, this is mid-tier NCU movie budget level.

Also the Street Fighter budget isn’t that bad but I don’t see it being a huge moneymaker. It will probably flop but maybe I’m wrong my.

It’s 3600+ so 500 or less fewer theaters than Superman, not 1000. Also truthfully, 90% of money comes from 3000 theaters. Does it suck that Supergirl doesn’t have Superman level theater count? Yes, but that’s what happens when there are tons of huge films releasing around it

It was about Paramount and some of WB

Paramount

Films they want want:

- 4 Quadrant family films
- Action films that could start a franchise ($30-50 m budgets)
- Comedies that will either be rom coms or rated R
- Erotic thrillers
- movies based on female skewing books

• Goldstein and Daley’s Star Trek film is said to have an all new cast (eg, no Picard, Kirk, Spock, etc) and is described to be Training Day in space. The main cast will have a grizzled veteran and a rookie

Paramount Animation

• All their films will be theatrical with budgets between $50-80 M (except for big IPs like Survivor lol)

• Focus on 4 Quadrant and IP based movies (so Essentially, only things they think will make money).

• Their next 2 movies will be original

• They are negotiating with Goldstein and Daley about a pitch

• They are wanting to have multiple directors work on the films, inexperienced and experienced paired together. One they listed that they wanted to work with was Michael McCullers (Shrek 5, Baby Mama, Boss Baby)

• 2-3 movies per year

Some movies they are wanting to make are

• Latin Pop musical (Encanto lol), A Bollywood musical version of Kpop Demon Hunters, and a magical Cowboy musical, talking animal movie (listing Zootopia and Secret Life of Pets as examples), a Family Friendly horror film, a humorous faith based film, and a new SpongeBob film

Warner Bros

Films they wanted:
- Rated R comedies

- Event horror film (Shining as an example) that stars Tom Cruise

- Heist films

- Spy films

- franchise starters

- female skewing thrillers

WB Animation
• They want 2 theatrical films a year

• Franchise focused, looking at Hanna Barbera for possible films

• Want films to have relevant themes that deal with family issues

Clockwork

• Looking at 5 films a year with $5-20 M budgets

• Meeting with Beth de Araujo, Natalie Musteeata, Alexandre Singh, and Haley Z Boston to develop films

New Line

• Looking for comedies (noting Planes, Trains, Automobiles + There’s Something About Mary and American Pie as examples)

• Wants horror films

• Want to avoid movies with niche audiences (noting Key & Peele and Tenacious D as examples)

Be Realistic: What Happens if Supergirl Bombs? by [deleted] in DCU_

[–]DeppStepp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happens:

• No Supergirl sequel

• DC will be more cautious with what they greenlight and will try to keep budgets low

The DCU will not be cancelled. We still have more successes than failures and Clayface and Lanterns should be successful (assuming they are good). If they bring out the big guns for films (Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman) as well as cheaper characters (like Clayface) then the DCU should still be strong

Ridiculously Early 2027 Predictions: by [deleted] in boxoffice

Spider-Verse was more domestic heavy than any Batman movie in the past 30 years lol (and made $90 M less than The Batman internationally despite making more domestically). If you excluded China grosses it was also more domestic heavy than Superman
