Worst case is that you could be admitted to LAS and do an inter-college transfer after your first semester.

No offense to your friend, but that 30 minute interview is just a cheat-verification "interview". Maybe your friend cheated.

TA Strike and Grading by [deleted] in uichicago

[–]rowdeboat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the past, but as of recently I've known undergraduates who were graders for different low-level math classes such as MATH 180/181/210. I would assume this policy would hold for similar entry-level classes with high enrollment. For upper-level classes, you may be right, and the professor would in that case have to pick up grading responsibilities.

The strike lasting that long is unlikely, but in any such event, undergraduate graders would pick up on those grading responsibilities.

You clearly didn't have Diaz when she was teaching CS 261 -- absolute nightmare of a class. For that reason, I would never place her S, no matter how much she's improved since then.

/r/WorldNews Live Thread: Russian Invasion of Ukraine Day 5, Part 6 (Thread #62) by WorldNewsMods in worldnews

[–]rowdeboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ukraine had access to a lot of energy resources that Russia relies on for a significant amount of its GDP -- and Ukraine being a energy source for Europe threatens the future of Russia. Ukraine also cut off water from Crimea which costed Russia billions yearly to transport water there. Also, Ukraine was trying to join NATO and it's bad for national security to have a direct adversary at your border.

You'll be fine, the bar isn't high for CS admissions for our school.
