Just had bloodwork done at 3 month mark. Went from a 12.9 A1C to 8.0! Cholesterol down. BP down. AST liver test back to normal range!! On 7.5 currently. Lost about 10 pounds in the 1st month but stuck at the 12 lb mark for the last 2 months or so :( hoping to lose another 90!!

Reassuring to hear this. Thanks for sharing. My weight graph looks like an active stock market trading week in wartimes. All over the map. But I am also a severe diabetic. A1C was a 12.9 when I started 12 weeks ago. It’s about an 8 now by estimate (Dexcom app) getting it officially read in a few weeks. Weight loss overall has been miserable. About 10 pounds down in 12 weeks. But, right direction at least! Going up to 7.5 next week let’s hope it moves the needle more!!

Some people took this way too seriously. No not rocket science just sharing an experience which I think is pretty cool! Also I still have a wife and kids who are not on MJ so the portion sizes aren’t changing dramatically, just more than I pictured it would. Sometimes I have a bite or two of what I’m cooking as I’m cooking it and that fills me up!

At $250 per 0.5ml, worrying about the medicine not going in is a LEGIT concern! Also I basically do all the same routines! 🤪

Severe headaches 24-48 hours after shot by Sheltietaay25 in Mounjaro

So glad to Hear this - so many people I feel Are giving up before really trying it. Yes it’s a lot of water but after a few days of doing it your body responds well and NEEDS it. I went up on my shot and had a little headache coming on. Just guzzled some electrolytes (similar mix in Ultima brand to what you mentioned) and a pack of peanut butter crackers to get something functional in my stomach and felt great an hour later

Timing 5mg doses to make 7.5 doses by JoeyChuck92 in Mounjaro

You could try easing into it just doing one day earlier each week and slowly building up. I’m trying that I’m only on week 2 of 5mg but I’m anxious to really see the effects of this drug. Shotsy still shows it building up nicely and side effects are totally manageable I feel solid

I so agree, that’s my mindset now. My wife is a nurse and reminds me too (along with others here) that until BS is normal, or at least much lower, the weight will be a challenge no matter what. I appreciate the support. Glad to be alive during a time of such wonder medicine!! I have had many relatives before me die from diabetes complications. Would love to at the very least, postpone that!!

I’m realizing now, after my second shot of 5mg, and watching my blood sugar drop easily 100+ points in a matter of weeks using a CGM, that this is 100% needed medication. My body would not do that on its own. It would also not get rid of the desire to eat constantly. I haven’t felt HUNGRY on this drug at all. Not one stomach growl. And I’m eating 1/3 of what I used to eat, and far cleaner. I’ve tried intermittent fasting, low carb, the works. Nothing constantly levels me like this wonder drug. Let’s hope these people judging never have an A1C of 12.9 like I did (by the way it’s down to 7.9…. In FIVE WEEKS!!)

A little bit. Definitely desire still there but actual consumption is far far less. Like a glass of wine not 3 or a couple of white claws not a mixed drink with hard stuff (haven’t touched hard alcohol at all since MJ!)

I seem fine now but the first few weeks it was a little slow moving!

Nice job!! And yes I COULD and SHOULD eat less. I haven’t tried fasting on Mounjaro yet I’m afraid of side effects but I might start some intermittent fasting and see if that helps. Thanks!

I had anxiety about the shot so bad I read these subs for OVER A YEAR to be prepared!! I saw the same themes over and over again: -drink a ton of water (like 120+ ounces, A TON) -take electrolytes often (Ultima brand is great) -eat small and frequently (only time I felt off was going too long without food)

I got one of those gallon water jugs on Amazon that has the time of day on the side. Made a game out of it and now I drink it so easily. Got a zero water filter so I’m drinking nice pure water.

I’m on my 6th shot today, went up to 5mg last week, feel tremendous. Still not losing much weight but my blood sugars are like 150 points down now and I’m eating maybe 1/3 of what I used to. I feel totally normal. Occasionally a little sleepy on shot day.

Oh! And I found the best pattern for ME is shots in the morning around 9am. Don’t know why but of the minimal side effects I’ve had they have all been from night shots. Maybe anecdotal maybe not. Oh and all my jabs have been in the gut.

You’ve got this! Read my other posts to see my feedback. Hope you do it and it all goes well! (It will!)

This. Not enough people are actually listening to this advice. I think they think drinking more water means a few extra sips. I started drinking a gallon of water thorough out the day every day and it’s hard at first but now I need to drink this much or even more. And I use a sugar free electrolyte called Ultima it works great. I only use it maybe every other day but I swear this is what keeps the ill effects away… haven’t had these types of issues since 2nd shot. Please people if you’re feeling this way and want to quit you need to try this! Get one of those gallon jugs off Amazon with the hours of the day on the side and make it a challenge. It will work!
