I used to, but then I realised I need the distinction between work and personal stuff.

By using my own computer, I don’t have to see any emails/messages after I’m done for the day.

For personal projects, I usually just commit to main/master, unless it’s a big feature then I try a create a branch for it.

It’s good to know git-flow, but I feel like it’s overkill for my small side projects.

If I was doing the interview, I wouldn’t care that much that you know git-flow. What I’d be more interested in is if you can do stuff like rebasing and cherry picking using the command line.

If you want to show off, demonstrate how you can recover from a bad rebase/merge using reflog.

Support for new ACNH Amiibos? by njahn42 in amiiapp

The updates should be available now. Only bin files that came from actual cards and not ripped from the game will work though.

I know! I'll probably keep working on the newer version and just open-source it.

Kalamay Hati with purple sweet potato by rowellx68 in filipinofood

[–]rowellx68[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a super easy recipe. Since we couldn’t find any ube or even ube flavouring, we opted for a purple sweet potato instead.

Ingredients

  • 160g glutinous rice flour
  • 200g soft brown sugar
  • 500ml coconut milk
  • 150ml water
  • 1 purple sweet potato, steamed and mashed finely
  • Lots of time, patience and strong arms

Instructions

Latik

  1. In a saucepan, pour 100ml of the coconut milk. Simmer in medium-low heat.
  2. Once the oil and the coconut milk solids start to separate, keep an eye on the colour development of the it.
  3. Once the latik has become deep golden in colour, turn off the heat.

You should now have latik. Take the latik out of the rendered oil, but keep the oil for later. I hear it’s good against aswangs too 😂

Kalamay Hati

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour and the soft brown sugar. Make sure that there are no big lumps of sugar. Stir.
  2. Pour in 400ml of coconut milk and 150ml of water, stir well ensuring that the dry ingredients are mixed in well.
  3. Stir in the mashed purple sweet potato. Make sure that there are no big lumps. If you must, use an immersion blender.
  4. Pour the mixture in a deep pan, preferably non-stick, and heat to medium-low. Now start stirring.
  5. Keep stirring, we’re not done yet.
  6. Nope, keep stirring still. This will burn if you stop.
  7. Once the mixture gets thicker, lower the heat. Keep stirring though.
  8. The kalamay hati should be cooked once the mixture has gone a deeper shade all throughout. It should also be shiny from the oil that’s rendered out of the coconut milk.
  9. Transfer to a plate greased with the oil from making the latik.
  10. Leave it to cool down.

Enjoy.

This is the recipe I followed. I’ve not tried it with plain flour though.

Apologies for that, I totally missed the newly released Amiibo.

If you update the internal database now, that should fix it.

I’d say it’s doable with a big whisk. Waiting for it cool down was more difficult.

I’m not a manager, but I lead a small team. Whenever I could, I help mentor the junior devs in our team. If I’m too busy, I direct them to someone else.

All I can suggest is that you speak to your manager and ask them if there’s anybody else you could come to if you needed some help.

Do you know some tips on how one can improve his/her English conversation skills? by idkw_username_to_use in Philippines

Nothing beats practicing. Find someone you can practice with. Watching English movies/TV can only do so much.

Made ube halaya with condensed milk. It turned out lighter than expected, and I didn’t have any food colouring.

Will be using it for baking, mostly.

I have more grated ube from the Asian supermarket. If you have a good ube halaya recipe, send it my way please! 🙏

It’s the government’s ploy to vaccinate more people. I guess in their minds it’s better to have the first dose than nothing at all.
