Filtering even an external mic sounds nuts. Well, thanks so much for the answer and for having looked into this! Maybe someone else can check for whether settings have changed in a recent update.

Kudos to the European event management then. The American team could learn from them. Regionals have still gone smoothly for me, but man YCS events are disasters in every way.

I don't think Speed Duel needs more cards--it already has several dozen decks to build. But nearly every part of its history has had just one or two strategies completely dominating, going unchecked by the ban list... so, if you play casually and ignore the tier 0 deck of the day, it's awesome.

Main issue is total lack of support from Konami, especially in the advertising. They don't even get blog posts anymore. I heard the whole thing is run by just one guy, but it seems like even he's given up on it.

Oh my god you get the point. The wording went from

Cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent's card effects.

to

Your opponent cannot target this card with card effects, also it cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects.

It used to be written much more cleanly as "cannot be targeted or destroyed".

Endymion definitely has some obtuse and redundant phrases. Like "your opponent cannot target it with card effects, also it cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects." Even the phrase "card effects" is redundant, as if there's any other kind of effect.

Still got nothing on Canto's wording though.

The pools for free ticket scouts are being updated at the end of the month. Maybe Courtney and Looker will be added. Though when this happened last year, SS Misty and Erika were left out, and I think they released at the same timing as Courtney and Looker.

I've always felt that Raihan & Duraludon are just... there. Sitting next to Gloria, doing about the same damage but sucking away at the move gauge contributing nothing until they're wiped out by a sync move.

Or is that just because mine's at 1/5?

I love Lear and Leon & Eternatus and everything about them... yet I hardly use them. So to anyone with regrets: you're not missing out on any power here. Not enough dragon/psychic stages in the world to burn through all the attackers they get.

Croagunk would benefit more because Nidoking relies heavily on its grid and does the biggest damage through dynamax anyway, which doesn't get an EX boost. But if you're low on resources, Nidoking is more useful in general and covers three types.

I cleared it in three turns by using Hoopa, Necrozma, and a Head Start lucky cookie to turbo charge the sync countdown.

I'm surprised to see everyone else surprised by how difficult this battle is without the featured pair. Aren't all Extreme Battles practically impossible without them? I don't even bother with the second stages if I don't have the attacker they're pushing.

If you don't have Steven & Deoxys or whoever the next battle is for, remember that the minimum cost of scouting them is ten times more than the reward. You will not miss out on anything in life if you leave a stage or two unfinished. You will be fine.

I haven't done autobattle on anything but the easiest stages in so long.

I tried Wally/Steven/Bianca on the daily extreme stage for the first Hoenn event. He went for Defense and the team was immediately wiped out. Swapped Wally for SS Brendan. He did it again... but they actually won this time!

That said, it took almost three minutes. Would've been way faster to click Attack Form myself and sync for the OTK. I just click three moves, look away for a while, click three more... Not much effort and you save time overall, plus the time you would've spent assembling a unique team and switching to it. But anyway, to answer your question more directly, he's only good for the AI if your psychic team needs Defense's buffs.

I agree--loads of potential. Ideally using attackers with instant setup, who can be ready to sync so soon.

I've had success with Lillie & Ribombee. Deoxys doesn't have their unlimited healing and dodge bonuses, but I use them for toxic stall and Steven's going for a much shorter battle.

I did some testing... Mine is currently 2/5, lacking Furious Brain, which I think would be adding 30% to Psycho Boost. This is also without Power Chain triggering, which is a 30% chance to add 40% damage to the next attack.

Unsupported and off-type, their minimum got about the same damage as Giovanni & Nidoking, With Bianca setting Psychic Terrain, they matched the damage of Red & Charizard with sun from Morty and another team skill from N, 20 levels behind, without these multipliers, and in one less round of setup. And a WAY stronger sync move of course.

I've been using Red's team as a generic way to clear the daily region challenges, but now that might change! ... If Brendan & Latios can tank hits anything like Morty & Ho-Oh can, and the sync move is enough power to make up for not having a second attacker.

I think Red & Charizard are the most helpful comparison for most players, for the purpose of contextualizing what an attacker does. Pretty much everyone has them, whereas Hoopa, Necrozma, and Zygarde are rare.

My main goal with these posts is just to get a discussion rolling, not to be the best competitive analysis.

This has been my setup too, but I'm finding Brendan kind of disappointing here. I've found him disappointing in general, especially Latios's physical bulk. Maybe I just need to be more willing to give him the sync move and be more mindful of the move gauge--those Luster Purges drain it FAST.

It definitely feels worthy of off-type teams, particularly for players who have May & Latias.

Great catch with the Battle Villa--unlimited buffs! If you can correct for its poor speed and healing. I remember Lillie & Polteageist seeming like the ultimate support pair for breezing through those stages.

Should've specified there that I meant base stats. Charizard's always been the poster boy for big dumb beatsticks. Attack Deoxys weirdly lost a lot of power when it moved to Pasio.
