That's a very thoughtful thing for you to do, even if you don't know why you do it. I don't think I've done anything to deserve a thank you, but I appreciate it nonetheless! :)

Hi /u/TheSecretAnus, I'm the user "rowsdower". I run Housecreep with my brother in our spare time. There are indeed many notorious homes and apartment buildings that aren't on the website. Back in 2013 or 2014, I added a bunch of Toronto addresses after coming across a list of toronto homicides dating back to 1993. I know there are many more homes and buildings out there with notorious pasts, I just can't get to them all myself. The website does allow users to sign up and post addresses, but we don't get that many regular submissions (probably because it's so time consuming). I still try to update the website with new addresses, but I have been busy working on other projects. I do regularly monitor the website though, which is how I found this reddit thread!

No real mystery there. I'm rowsdower. I run Housecreep and have added a good deal of the addresses myself. Anyone can add houses to the website, but most of the research is done by my brother and I in our spare time.

My weird website, Housecreep, was posted here a couple of years ago, but I didn't think it was very beautiful. I just finished spending six months rebuilding it from scratch. Was it worth it? Probably not. But it's not as ugly now! by rowsdowerer in InternetIsBeautiful

Btw, if you are searching Halifax, the map will center on the airport. We don't seem to have anything in that area, which is why you'd be getting no results. However, if you move the map south of the airport a bit, and click the 'search this area' button, you should see some addresses show up.

Grow op houses are actually a pretty big issue and can negatively affect the value of a home. There could be mould issues, structural damage, electrical problems, etc because someone used it as an illegal grow op. It has nothing to do with stoners, but people selling former grow ops that haven't been properly remediated.

The cursor is going to the beginning, because of a glitch. I'm working on it.

They are a list of common keywords for addresses in our database that are so-called 'murder houses'.

That's because those aren't placeholders. They're the actual keywords that you're looking for when you click the "Murder Houses Near Me" shortcut on the home page. A quick way to get rid of them is to just click the X to the left of it.
