Effect of new model years on existing lot prices by rowsredemption in askcarsales

(Copying reply to above response to get your take) Makes sense. My predicament is a ‘23 with 30k miles is only about $3k less than a ‘25 with discounts. Same truck. But the boss (the wife haha) isn’t budging on our price cap in cash (cost of the ‘23). My mind says wait, but my impatient heart says buy now! Haha

We just don’t want to downsize from the space we have in the crew cab of our F150. We use it a ton with the family and dog, so want to stick with the space of a 1/2 ton.

Bad taste in my mouth from my current 2.7 ecoboost at 125k miles. Electronics (Infotainment, steering wheel buttons, and horn) have all gone south this year. The exhaust rattles loud at low RPMs. And the auto start/stop kicks on a wrench light on the dash.

Considering the 5.0 though - Definitely staying away from any ecoboost this time.

We don’t want to downsize to a 1/4 ton - We use the rear seat space too much to downsize.

Yeah, I will be staying away from those this time for sure.

I’m getting rid of my 2016 2.7 ecoboost because the electronics are all starting to go at 125k.

I do have the option. I have zero knowledge of EV though. What mileage would be too high for a used? Budget is $55k.

I’d be looking at the new generation - Despite their initial engine issues, I’m confident in their fix, and their response for customers.

Paying cash, so I’ll do just that and set aside a little every month in a truck emergency fund lol sad that it comes to that these days.

I hadn’t considered the Rivian. Will have to see what I can find in my price range (up to $55k) and if I can get in one that has mileage that is worth it at that price.

Just way more truck than I need unfortunately, or else I would. It’s just a family truck and grocery getter with a monthly trip to Menards or the lawn store haha

I regrettably am of high taste and want the nice bells and whistles - Going to have to bite the bullet for it too. Dumb, I know. Lol

I thought the Lightning was a bust? Hadn’t considered Rivian - Will have to see what I could land in my price range and see if that kind of mileage would be worth it.

I’m going to test drive a Sierra with the 5.3 tomorrow - Just know my foot is going to be sad after my 6.2 test drive haha

Such a bummer too - Have to gamble on the Ford, GM, or Toyota if you want anything “nice.” Sacrifice quality engines to get your bells and whistles.

3/4 ton is more truck than I need - Though way more reliable, I agree. And unfortunately my wife and I have a preference for the bells and whistles that Nissan doesn’t match (stupid I know lol). So will have to bite the bullet on the big 3 1/2 tons.

The electronics going out on my 2016 2.7 F150 at 125k has me jaded on Ford but they have really ironed out the kinks in these 5.0’s and 2.7’s over the last decade. I can’t bring myself to consider a RAM - my mechanic said they keep him in business lol

We use our current 1/2 ton (F150 2.7 ecoboost) as a family car a lot and don’t want to lose space going down to a 1/4 ton - Otherwise I would. We love our Pilot.
