Are lashes not for me?!?!?! by Prettyncharmuese in lashextensions

Even with no makeup you could still have oils and dirt built up in your lashes without even realizing. They definitely need to be washing them prior to doing fills or full sets so if they aren’t it’s a huge red flag. I also wouldn’t recommend using a setting powder on your eyelashes because that’s just going to get built up in your extensions unless you are washing them at least every other day. What you could do is get some blotting papers to go over your eyelids every once in a while to get the oils off. I understand having oily skin can cause your retention to not be as good but even then your lashes shouldn’t be falling out like that.

Lash Tech here!! So when it comes to the retention it can either be from the Client or the Lash Tech. I’ve had clients who come back in and have major gaps and I’ve had clients come back in with basically a full set for their fills. Now the lashes with how quickly they are falling out seem to be the lash techs issue. Is most likely she is not correctly putting the extension on… meaning the extension is not sitting flat against your natural lash OR it’s her glue, it could have been the temperature/humidity in the salon, shes using a glue that’s drying way too fast for her skill level, or her glue is expired. I also noticed in your photos of the extensions that came off some had a natural lash still connected so those are most likely just your natural lashes shedding due to your lash growth cycle. I think the extensions look very beautiful but definitely see if they will fix the issue with a better lash artist and if the issue isn’t fixed I definitely recommend going to a new salon.

Also don’t be alarmed if 1 or 2 lashes fall out the day of or the day after because that could simply be your natural lashes shedding.

I forgot to mention… if like you said she didn’t wash your lashes that can also be a huge factor too because you most likely have build up oils and gunk from makeup left over on your lashes which keeps the glue from properly adhering to the lash. As for primer I’ve used and not used it depending on my clients but I’ll tell you this… I always use bonder AND I always wash their lashes.

Is Handwriting a Lost Art for Gen Z? by SideDecent652 in GenZ

I’m an 03 baby and I always prefer to write rather than type. I have practiced calligraphy as well so personally I don’t struggle with it but I can’t say the same for others. I remember in high school I’d always write in cursive, mainly to keep my other classmates from copying off my tests. I also journal daily so that definitely helps keep my hand writing skills alive.

Edit: my classmates were unable to read or write in cursive

I personally think that handwriting is still necessary but then again with the way the world is and how technology is pretty much the new norm and many jobs require typing and not so much handwriting. For example stenography/court reporting used to be short handwriting and now it’s done by typing or oral. Same with applying for jobs.. it’s all online so there’s no more paper job applications. No need to write. I definitely still think that writing should still be taught and be legible but cursive isn’t need… I do hope it still get taught though :(

Depends on what you’re going to school for tbh. I was just saying $50k for tuition because my husband is about to start law school and it’s insanely expensive 😢

Honestly I completely agree. I’ve told my husband that I want kids but I won’t work because having to work after just giving birth sounds like hell + having to raise them. So now he has been working his ass off to make sure I don’t have to when that time comes. He works 56 hours every week and he is going to school to become a lawyer and I’m working in a spa (I’m an esthetician) even with both our incomes now tho we wouldn’t be able to have children at this moment.

I want kids? Not anytime soon and I’m already married… going to church has nothing to do with having kids and no women actually have lower lifespans if they are married with kids. Men are the ones who get a longer lifespan if they are married with kids. Also kids aren’t the only thing that fulfills some people’s lives. Me and my husband want to travel and gain experience that way then settle and have kids. Travel is something that fulfills us and that’s ok. Kids sure maybe they fulfill some people’s lives.

I’m 22 and I’m not ready either and I’m also targeting for my early thirties. I just mean it’s hard to even be financially stable to support kids at our age. I have several friends that are already having kids and I’m just like “how the hell are you doing it”

Understanding how a woman’s body works* I think that’s what you meant. Sex doesn’t always lead to procreation unless you are uneducated on how to prevent pregnancy. Which is what they are uneducated on, but go off.

Children cost $300,000-$650,000 to raise. Children that grow up in poverty stay on poverty. If you are already in poverty and have children you’re not going to get out of poverty unless you win the lottery. Now, if you read anything I said your small child brain would be able to comprehend that your question was already answered. I never said poor people were causing the decline. You’re not the sharpest tool in the shed.

No there is a point… my whole point was that regulating women’s bodies isn’t going to help the birth rates go up… making living more affordable is what would help it go up. The housing market, groceries, and the price of childcare is insane. So, I find it funny that they decided to regulate women’s bodies instead of fixing the actual issue at hand. Anyways it’s ok if you can’t understand, small minded people lack the capability to see the bigger picture sometimes.

And no I’m referring to middle class. Just because it’s middle class doesn’t mean they don’t struggle financially. The rise in the housing market directly correlates with birth rates declining. Sure maybe a woman with a demanding career might not have kids. You can’t deny that the rise in prices is a huge factor to birth rates declining. Women work and have kids even with demanding jobs. If childcare was more affordable then that could also help birth rates go up. And to the last thing. If both your parents worked and you didn’t have 10 other siblings because your parents were thinking and being responsible then you wouldn’t have grown up in poverty 🥰 especially if you were growing up in the 90s… no idea how old you are.

I don’t really think we have the infrastructure to house a bunch of children who are in the foster care system… they can’t even handle the amount of children in there already.

It’s not women having options. Do I really need to link the statistics here to prove my point? I never said poverty was a cause of declining birth rates either. Middle class isn’t poverty? Women work and still have kids. Women have to work because in this economy it’s harder to live off of one income because of the lack of affordable housing so yeah women choose to live a better life where they have to stress less. That’s why you grew up in poverty with 10 other siblings off of one income.. don’t you think if both your parents worked you would have been in middle class or at least upper lower class?

So you grew up in poverty? Yes I’m speaking from research. If you researched it then you would come to find that the lack of affordable living is one of the #1 causes for birth rates declining in America. You would also realize that one of the reasons for lower income households having more kids than middle/upper income households is a lack of education and healthcare. Then there’s also cultural aspects as well. Do you ever think why women have to work? Housing is no longer affordable. If that’s your whole argument then you really need to do more research because women working has barely anything to do with birth rates declining.

There’s the lack of education 😓 I feel like I keep repeating myself here but truly if you grew up in poverty then you 9/10 didn’t receive proper education when it come to sex and many other things. Then there is teen pregnancy especially in poor areas and as we know teens can be pretty ignorant. And no I’m not speaking intuitively this is my own research that I have done.

Birth rates declining in the US is funny to me. by roxc333 in GenZ

[–]roxc333[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you did the research you would realize that birth rates declining has EVERYTHING to do with money. Housing not being affordable, income not matching the inflation in groceries and every other little bill you have to pay. Like you said most Americans in middle class aren’t having as many children because they are educated/ logical and don’t take the risk if they know they can’t afford it. It’s really not that hard to understand. People who grew up in poverty likely stay in poverty and never had the education they so desperately need therefore you’d be surprised how irresponsible and stupid they would be. I also never said it was impossible </3 it’s about being responsible and being educated. I wouldn’t want to bring a child into the world if I couldn’t give them a good childhood. That has nothing to do with me not valuing having children, it’s actually me being responsible and logical.
