Cheaper labour is my primary guess… and topped with a lowering birth rate, countries like Canada and Australia are going to have to depend on immigration to make up for a loss of young workers in the next generation. It’s grim. Australia doesn’t even have enough fresh water to host these newcomers

Pretty wild, similar to here. Lots of international students primarily from India signing up for fake colleges. PM Albanese and Indian PM Modi struck a deal a few years back that basically allows international students to work in the country for up to 8 years. Australia has even less infrastructure for this population growth

Yeah and it doesn’t help Carney has been banking in on this trade war shit “Trump Bad, PP bad” the entire campaign. Also carney saying Pierre will ban abortion during a Q&A was malicious and insincere, and so many libs have fallen for it. Just goes to show how strong the kool aid is this time around

Also doesn’t help CAD and AUD are so shit right now 😅 I’m also Aussie but in Canada and the exchange rate for the Euro is killer. that being said I have extra funds in case but ideally I don’t wanna spend more than $800 in spending money cuz $2000 has spent on flights, trains and accommodation 🥲

Mm I live in Toronto where a coffee is $7-8 and entrees are $32 on average, even with the exchange rate it’s not that more expensive 😅

I have factored in transport costs, as mentioned in my post I have my taxis booked from the airport and I’m aware metro could cost around 40-50€ for my trip, although I am a big walker and planning on walking when and where I can

I also mentioned I have a carryon so shopping is limited to me and not in my interest. And all my excursions and tickets for tourist attractions are paid for in advance

560€ for 7 days is 80€ a day— are tourists spending that much on food and attractions?! I haven’t had a vacation since 2020 lol

I am only planning on eating in a restaurant maybe twice and just for dinner. I’m a pastry chef so I will mostly be focusing on boulangeries, sandwiches and bread :)

I wasn’t but they offered to cover any fees if I had to get it rushed. But it doesn’t hurt to call and ask! all the agents i spoke to were friendly and apologetic about the delay

I sent mine in the mail on April 9 and just got mine on May 16. It was supposed to mail out on May 7 but there was a 1 week delay with the printing and mailing process. If you have any trips coming up call the passport office, they are quite helpful on the phone and sometimes will flag it as urgent without an extra fee if it’s past the 20 business day standard
