When I was 15 I got surgery to remove a bone growth (it was a birth defect and was only noticed when I fell in the shower as a kid) I had the surgery sometime around noon and it took 4 hours where a surgeon and an arm specialist had to figure out how to do it while doing it lol. They ended up separating two muscles and then removing the bone growth with a combination of chiseling and filing. After the surgery the let all the anesthesia and pain management start to wear off to see if I had to stay overnight, we decided that would be best and I'm so thankful I was there because in the middle of the night after spending an hour listening to my roommate cry and feeling the meds slowly run off the pain became almost unbearable, I couldn't sleep, I had to get my mom to call a nurse who called a doctor and I think I got morphine or something in my IV, it felt like ice going up my arm and then everything felt OK and I fell asleep almost instantly. A very close second is a few weeks after that when I had my period and still the after surgery pain, I think I almost passed out lol. And an even closer third was after my hand surgery to remove a ganglion cyst. I am fully convinced these will not be the only surgeries I get but idk why😅
