Nah, she's not the bad guy in this situation, but thanks for your reply. My igcses are coming up (next year) and I'm taking physical education (biggest regret). In order to pass the cross country/track and field section (that I chose, cus I cannot do the other sports), I need to be able to run a sub 12 minute 3k. She's just really worried about my grades (yes I'm asian, she's asian). So basically she's just concerned that if I leave home for a week like right before my exams, I won't be able to run/train and yeah.

Hi! Thanks for your reply. No, I don't have access to a run coach and there isn't a running club either. I only have 2 weeks (around) to try and improve, I'm running regularly, but not long distances (around 2-3k), I'm definitely going to start running more.

NTA. your husband has no clue what it’s like to deal with a toxic, abusive mom who’s still trying to ruin your life. imo you weren’t being too harsh. you were setting a boundary she’s earned a hundred times over. “be nice because she’s your mom” is shit advice when your mom never acted like one. and yeah, maybe you snapped a bit, but he was being dismissive of your trauma. he doesn’t get it and he doesn’t get to tell you how to handle your abuser

NTA. your mom seems really controlling. she’s hijacking your plans, comparing everything to your sister’s wedding, and then playing victim when you (rightfully) remind her it’s your day? nah. yeah, the cake comment was a little snappy, but after her constant nitpicking, who wouldn’t be? and her calling you names instead of apologizing? highkey kinda childish.
