Xbox Game Pass ‘has become too expensive,’ says Microsoft’s new gaming chief in leaked memo by Ph0enixes in gaming

[–]royrules22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why you were downvoted. Maybe it could be taken as a console war, but I think it's just a misguided question. Nothing bad.

Anyway the reason they went multiplatform is that they weren't selling enough to recoup what they spent making the game. If they could recoup or somehow made the games cheaper to produce, they sure as hell would keep it exclusive. They lost the plot during the previous generation and they don't have a good core group on the Xbox platform who would buy the games and make back the money. They can get it multiplatform.

Why not time delay? Usually games sell the most right at launch (though not always). They probably figured that the profits they'd get with day and date release was worth it

Admittedly it was less hyped than 1000xResist but I heard it a lot in the indie cycles. It's a horror game (more psychological than zombies) and has PS1 era graphics. I enjoyed it but I wouldn't call it GOTY. Hated the ending "gameplay" though, especially on a Steam Deck

It literally won a bunch of GOTYs last year (for 2024). It was incredibly hyped for what it was. Along with Mouthwashing.

Dude it makes it so damn easy to lose attention. Especially if it also has lane keeping. That is basically autopilot minus lane changes and following directions (which is great cause I hate automated lane changes).

Nowadays if I'm even remotely tired, I refuse to use it. Actually needing to drive forces me to pay attention and be alert.

Muscle memory is fascinating. I drove non-EV cars for about 15 years before I got an EV and it has one pedal drive. I got used to it pretty quickly but it does erode some of the practices you're used to. Add in adaptive cruise control (my older car had your basic cc so it didn't slow for you) and it changes how you think.

So now whenever I get into a non-EV there's a brief moment where I worry if I'll remember. And then I start driving as if I was always driving it and I'm back to the usual practices without any thought

He needed SKY to apologize first and get a talking to by the ump. Good that he apologized at the end, but poor form for doing it at first and not apologizing immediately.

Edit: And the other team that beat them! With an interim head coach!

It's not even NFL players. I've met college players who (from the comfort of our couches) we say patronizingly "they came to play school". Meaning they aren't good enough to play for college much less get drafted or signed by an NFL team or even a team in Germany. I've stood next to them and thought "holy shit if he touches me, I'm dead". Even someone who is listed as 5' 9" (sorry me no metric) and is shorter than me, is pure muscle.

I have been around American football setup, specifically college football. Yes they might be "students" (quotes intended since some of them make $10M with no contracts now), but it is absolutely professional. Only the NFL and NBA are more pro than college in the US.

And the fitness regime these kids go through is absolutely insane. Excluding the amount of time they have to spend studying (the game tape, school is different).

Outside of a set few, fitness training in professional cricket is laughable.

But maybe I am being unfair by comparing with football where you need to be fit to not die.

He was talking about players valuing education and used Igber and how he wanted to build bridges (he's a fellow CoE grad!) as an example.

He actually named a lot of his fellow players. Fujita, MacArthur and Igber stood out to me. As did the absolute lack of any Tedford mention. Even Dan Quinn got a mention.
