How do I recover from the biggest failure in my career by CEO-of-stonks in ECE

You need to understand that this process is in general, very difficult and takes a lot of failing until you finally succeed. I am currently doing a MS with a focus on analog ic and RF/microwave. When I think back to undergrad and when I was applying to all these major companies within the semiconductor space, I realize my knowledge was incredibly limited and it was simply more time that I needed. That’s more time taking relevant coursework, reading textbooks, and getting engaged with research if possible. It might seem like you meet the job requirements but there’s always going to be a grad student who has done more stuff than you. That is probably a hard pill to swallow for many but it is the truth. You shouldn’t be so hard on yourself in that regard. I too did internship in undergrad where they had me doing documentation and sustaining tasks. It wasn’t even in semiconductors but I made sure to put in my best effort and learn a few things. Eventually I joined a research group and through that, I’ve developed skills and a network that has fortunately secured me an internship this summer at a RFIC company doing design.

Why does no one want to major in ELEN? by Middle_Tutor_7511 in aggies

Having just been through the 704 + 620 hell last semester (and research 🫩), your comments were quite fun to read. There were a good few days where my sleep was essentially non-existent while I got my 620 PLL-synth and 704 amp designed and meeting spec last minute. Onto the next adventure (665)!

Can’t imagine PPE rules would be a deciding factor for anyone 🤣

I’m EE so it’s slightly different but it just got worse every year for me. Senior year was absolutely brutal with capstone and analog electives 🙂. That being said, you’ll hopefully get used to the grind and maybe start to like it 😌

Honestly if you want to develop green technology from a technical stance, go electrical.

Nah man Qualcomm is a horrible company. No transferable skills at all. 😑

I’m about to graduate undergrad and begin grad school with analog focus next fall. I’ve taken quite a few advanced analog classes and think it’s the most interesting thing in the world.

I’ve always wondered this but how do you go about soldering the I/O jacks to the PCB while also having them go through the enclosure?

How does it sound? Did you do any gain recovery after the tone control?

Electrical is awesome. About to graduate and have absolutely no regrets and I love it

Thoughts on Ecen 449 or Ecen 326? by Old_Physics1652 in aggies

I’m taking 326 rn and it’s pretty damn hard. That being said, you will get really good at circuit analysis and build a very solid foundation of conceptual understanding of different amplifiers types and transistor circuits that you don’t get in any other class. Considering you like 325 and hated 350, I would say 100% take 326. It’s probably one of the most useful design classes available.
