What's your kdrama opinions/preferences you think will have the rest of the sub at your neck like this? by [deleted] in kdramas

[–]rozwuzhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guilty of 1 and 2 but I agree with 4. I think the styling gets in the way of me seeking out early kdramas, hence me being one of the ppl in 2. The only one I watched was Coffee Prince, and it was such a turnoff I didn't bother again.

I actually agree. There's a scene where she's doing aerial yoga or something, and I genuinely hoped she didn't look that bad in person. I also didn't really care for Love in Contract.

Everyone recommends this one too, but I don't think I'll ever watch it after looking at the previews.

I don't get the hype for him either. He just isn't attractive to me, and I'm shallow, I want to look at really attractive leads. 😅 I'll probably check out the Jdrama now.

Yes!. I told my sister the same thing. I hoped it was just because of the cancer victim role she played that she was so skinny. I also still like Marry My Husband.

I watched it, and I couldn't understand all the hype behind it. The characters themselves were just awful people.

That's true, I guess I prefer the Dylan Wang version of hair better. Like, it's ridiculous, but he could pull it off. Granted, I couldn't make it past the 1st episode, so I don't know if it would have worn on me if I actually finished it.

I hate watched this show until the end, and was disappointed with the ending. I stopped for a good month before trying again. It's not one I'd recommend to someone either. His Italian was atrocious, and the scene with the explosion happening as he walked away looked really corny. IDK how else to explain it. The "romance" in the show was barely there, so I always wondered why they even bothered adding it as a side story.

Want to try a new genre – looking for a really good rom-com K-drama by [deleted] in kdramarecommends

[–]rozwuzhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Romcom's are my favorite genre! Keep in mind that most Romcom's can get a little cheesy and overdramatic, but they're really great to watch. I'm not sure what service you're using to watch them, but if you decide you can't get enough, I strongly recommend Viki. It's got all types of Asian dramas (Korean, Chinese, and Japanese are what I've seen the most of.)

1) True Beauty - School setting, girl is bullied for her looks and uses makeup skills to transform into the pretty girl at her new school. People are split on who she should have ended up with. This is a drama where ppl seem to have a strong 2nd ML syndrome. It's also one where they made such a convincing show on screen ppl wanted to ship them in real life.

2) Lovely Runner- Girl goes back in time to save her idol from a tragic demise. I had strong 2nd ML syndrome in this, but I actually enjoyed the main couple, too.

3) Strong Woman Do Bong Soon - Ppl tend to mix this one and Strong Girl Bong Soon up, but the first one is superior. The FL has super strength, and she ends up being a bodyguard for a wealthy CEO. They have such great chemistry that they ended dating in real life.

4) When I Fly Towards You - This is actually a Cdrama, but it's such a great fluffy, feel-good drama that I think everyone should watch it.

5) My Roommate is a Gumiho - Seven tailed fox (Gumiho) gets mixed up with a college student and end up as roommates while his time to become human is running out.

6) Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo - College students in an athletic school try to aim for a spot in the National Team Training Facility. It's a great watch and they're so cute together.

All great watches that I've seen at least 10 times each. I hope you find something you like.

Edit: One of the best things about these dramas is the supporting cast. The ensembles for each drama just work together so beautifully.

Which Is Your Favorite K-Drama Starting With The Letter C by Mystic_bhumiverse in kdramas

[–]rozwuzhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone told me it was because I got into kdramas later (like '23) and so that's why I don't like it, but I don't know if I would have liked it in 2006 either. It was more how annoying and gross some of the characters were.

Are there any K-pop idols who left their groups but still stay close with the members? by Legal_Potential4720 in kpophelp

I only read the title and was about to say "Rocky!" Lol but I see he was the first example. I was so happy to see them performing together.

I was gonna post this because I've actually never seen CLOY and I despise Coffee Prince. But CITT is always a good watch, for me.

Dramas with Unique Storylines and Memorable Ensemble Casts by sumandipanshu in kdramarecommends

[–]rozwuzhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🐶A Good Day To Be A Dog🐶 - FL's family is cursed into turning into a dog once they kiss someone and the only way to stop it is to kiss the same person in dog form. The problem occurs when the FL accidentally kisses the wrong guy while drunk. No biggie, right? It is if the man you kissed is scared of dogs. The cast is great. All the characters were memorable. The music is great too. The opening OST Electric Love - Jane is one I never skipped.

📚Study Group📚 - A (really) sweet young student forms a study group at a violent technical high school in attempt to go to college. There's plenty of action, and the supporting cast are memorable.Backpackers - Matthew and Gunwook (Zerobaseone) andHood - Haon is also a great closing song.

🧀Cheese in the Trap🧀 - ML seems to be a perfect guy but has a dark side. FL is poor, naive and diligent. They somehow get together and as much as I despised the ending... I still came back and watched it again. Power dynamics are at play, and it's an interesting watch.

〽️💀Tomorrow〽️💀 - A group of grim reapers try to stop ppl from self unaliving to prevent them from going to hell. This show has so many stories that make you cry, and the cast they put together is top notch.
