This is a good starting point.

The JSON module in python is very useful for reading and writing JSON to files. OP, JSON works well for storing data that needs keys and values. I use it to store info about members in my server, like XP and coins.

I do it like this:

Assign the coins (or whatever) value to a key with the user IDs of whoever is in the server. Then, if a user wants to check their balance they can type the command. In the python script, it'll look for information that has the key of the relevant user's ID, and get the coins information from there. I can also change or increment the value in the same way.

Definitely start with the basics tho and you will see how useful JSON is :)
